RE: AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND 39TH ANNUAL CALIFORNIA CONTRACT
CITIES ASSOCIATION SEMINAR, PALM SPRINGS MAY 14-17, 1998
Attached for your consideration is information regarding the aforementioned conference. This
year's theme is "Cities in the New Millennium: Issues and Opportunities". There will be sessions
on Redevelopment, Schools and Cities, County Relations, and Legislative issues. The City has
attended this event in the past and it has proven to be of benefit to the City.
1 RECOMMENDATION
' It is recommended that the Rosemead City Council authorize the attendance of any
Councilmember, the City Attorney, the City Manager and staff as assigned by the City Manager.

Our Golf Tournament Committee Chairman, Councilmember Garth Gardner of Pico Rivera has
once again selected the Mission Hills Country Club as the host course for this year's tournament.
The spouse's program will be held at the Hilton Hotel Saturday, May 16. 'Rags for Dolls"will
provide the fashion show and Fire Fighters Local #1014 will provide the very popular `Mimosa
Reception". Also, youth activities have been finalized and include a teen dance at the popular
"Camelot Park". Registration forms for these events are included in this mailing.
