A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF 1HE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD ENDORSING 1'HE SECOND
ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
SPONSORED BY THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SCAG)
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is a Joint
Powers Agency(IPA) established pursuant to Sections 6502 et seq. of the California Government
Code; and
WHEREAS, SCAG is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (IvwPO) for the
counties of Imperial, Los Amides, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura; and
WHEREAS, SCAG's mission is to provide leadership, vision and progress which promote
economic growth, personal well-being, and livable communities for Southern Californians; and
WHEREAS, SCAG has invited every Member of Congress from the SCAG region to
attend the second annual Congressional Leadership Summit which will be held at the University
of Southern California (USC) on August 22, 1997 to foster unity in the Southern California
delegation on issues affecting the region.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that, we, the City of Rosemead recognize the
significance of this event and endorse the Congressional Leadership Summit, which deserves
the participation, involvement, and support of all officials who have been elected to serve the
citizens of Southern California; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, we the City of Rosemead encourage all members
of the Southern California Congressional Delegation to attend this important event.
