CC - 08-26-66 - Special MeetingCITY OF ROSEMEAD ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA CITY COUNCIL Minutes of August 26, 1966 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Rosemead was held in the Council Chambers, 3018 Charlotte Avenue. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Maude at 7:30 o'clock a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Maude. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen: Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Whiddon. Absent: Councilmen: Andersen. Ex officio: Brown, Byers, Meyer. 1. RESOLUTION N0. 66-56. RESTRICTING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF VALLEY BOULEVARD BETWEEN MUSCATEL AVENUE AND ]VAR AVENUE. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF VALLEY BOULEVARD BETWEEN IVAR STREET AND MUSCATEL STREET. Administrative Assistant Meyer advised the Council that an Encroachment Permit for the Beautification work cannot be obtained from the State until the parking is restricted in this block. • Attorney Brown advised the Council that it is necessary to adopt a resolution expressing intent and also an urgency ordinance to take effect immediately. Attorney Brown presented this resolution by title only. It was moved by Councilman Jackman, second by Councilman Lowrey, that further reading be waived and Resolution No. 66-56 be adopted. Roll call vote as follows: AYES: Councilmen: Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Whiddon. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: Andersen. ORDINANCE NO. 183. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROHIBITING PARKING AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF. Attorney Brown presented this ordinance by title only. It was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman Whiddon, that further reading be waived. • Roll call vote as follows: AYES: Councilmen: Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Whiddon. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: Andersen. CC 3-26-66 It was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman Jackman, that Ordinance No. 183 be adopted. Roll call vote as follows: AYES: Councilmen: Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Whiddon. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: Andersen. 0 2. APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE CITY SELECTION COMMITTEE, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT. Mayor Maude advised the Council he would like to appoint Councilman Lowrey. RESOLUTION NO. 66-57. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEi IEAD APPOINTING A i-,IE -iBER OF SAID CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY TO THE CITY SELECTION COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 10 OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES CODE. Attorney Brown read this resolution by title only. It was moved by Councilman Jackman, second by Councilman l%Ihiddon, that further reading be waived and Resolution i'lo. 66-57 be adopted. Karen Wilder is no longer with the City. It was moved by Councilman Jackman, second by Councilman Lowrey, and unanimously carried, that the meeting adjourn.
