NEW LAW AND ELECTION SEMINAR-DECEMBER 3-5, 1997,
MONTEREY
On December 3-5, 1997, the League of California Cities will be holding the annual City Clerks
New Law and Election Seminar in Monterey. This seminar will provide an update on current
elections laws and procedures and has proved to be beneficial to the City Clerk's office as well as
City Hall.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Rosemead City Council authorize the attendance of the City Clerk at
this conference.

CITY CLERK SALARY/CLASSIFICATION STUDY
In 1996 the City Clerks Association of California commissioned a statewide salary and
classification study of city clerk positions. In this session the consultant will report on the
project results,current trends in city clerk compensation,and provide information on
how to use the new model job description and wage surveys in support of salary
adjustments. This session is essential if you are negotiating a new compensation package,
are about to have your duties"reorganized"and want to evaluate the salary implications,
