S & M Landscape, Inc. $59,150.00 2. Tapuz Enterprises, Inc. $59,390.00 3. Ryco Construction, Inc. $62,526.00 4. Green Giant Landscape, Inc. $82,600.00 Attached are copies of the three low bids, a bid analysis, and Dun and Bradstreet reports for the three low bidders. The low bid was submitted by S & M Landscape, Inc., a responsible contractor, in the amount of $59,150.00, which is approximately 1 percent below the Engineer's estimate of$60,000. The average bid was $65,916.50. On November 18, 1997, the City Clerk received a petition to reopen the issue of the selection of the replacement tree. The petition is attached for your consideration. It is signed by 32 residents representing 29 properties out of a total of 67 properties fronting Olney Street. The subject construction contract provides for the planting of camphor trees. Should the City Council award the contract to S & M Landscape, Inc, and elect to change the selection of the replacement tree, a contract change order to change the specie of tree can be executed accordingly. RECOMMENDATION 1. Accept bids and award the project to S & M Landscape, Inc. in the amount of $59,150.00. 2. Authorize the Mayor to sign the contract on behalf of the City.
