The meeting was called to order by Mayor Andersen at 8:01.i o'clock p.m. 1. CALL TO ORDER The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Andersen. REHABILITATION BOARD DISCUSSIOill City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that requiring property owners to attend hearings in Los Angeles before the County Board would not constitute an inconvenience to residents as the greatest percentage owning property in need of rehabilitation are absentee owners. The Council could then serve as an Appeals Board. Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman iMaude, that the Council recind their previous action appointing the Council as the Rehabilitation Board; that the County Rehabil,itatior1 Board be appointed as the City of Rosemead Rehabilitation Board, and the Council appointed as the Appeals Board. AND RECOMMENDATIONS, SAN MORITZ INN. 1presented the report.of the Hearing Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Jackman, that the Council accept the report of the Hearing Officer, and the license be issued conditioned on the recommendations of the Hearing Officer, plus the additional con- dition of an officer on duty whenever needed; such license not to be issued until all necessary departments ha,,e approved the premises. Mayor Andersen advised the Council that he would like to appoint the following to the Parking Requirement Study Committee: Kenneth Pike Harry Buchanan Frank DiNoto Walter Lowrey Ray Cushman It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Jackman, and unanimously carried that the foregoing appointments be ratified. • 12. There were no objections. C. R. E. MORGAH. RE: ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSE. . City Administrator Farrell summarized this proposal. The discussion which followed, indicated that the Council feels that the City of Rosemead has an overabundence of this type of business and this proposed location is immediately adjacent to another establishment of the same type and prefers the taking over and up grading of establishments already in operation rather than the licensinc of a new location. ` - 4 - W Cc 12-8-64 D. CITY OF LAI;&IDALE. (Not on agenda) City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that this was an invitation to the City of Lawndale's fifth Anniversary c:lebration. .E. CALIFORNIA CONTRACT CITIES ASSOCIATIOP' (Not on agenda) City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that this was notification of the December 16th meeting of the Association to be hosted by the City of,Cudahy. 16. Mayor Andersen advised the Council he would proclaim the week of December 9 through 15 as Bill of Rights Week. • B. Councilman Jackman expressed his concern over the number of dance licenses being applied for and the number of service stations being constructed. Council concurred that the matter of service stations be referred to the Planning Commission. C. Councilman iv!aude requested that the City Administrator contact our Assemblymen and attempt to work out a solution to the Valley Boulevard and Rosemead Boulevard left-turn problem.
