LOVER AZUSA ROAD AT ENCINITA AVENUE. iMIARION S. BERK. Attorney Beverly advised the Council that this dedication was in order for acceptance. • It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Stead, and unanimously carried, that this dedication of right of way be accepted and recordation authorized. City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that the Planning Commission recommended that the property in Annexation No. 211 zoned R-A be changed to R-1 and the remainder of the area remain unchanged. • It was moved by Councilman Stead, second by Councilman Jac!-man, and unanimously carried; that the Council approve this recommendation and instruct the Attorney to prepare the necessary interim zoning ord- inance. 12, AididEXAT I Oid NO. 26. Mayor Andersen ordered this matter deferred to October 14, 15")4, if there were no objections. There were no objections. C. SAN GABRIEL VALLEY PLANNING COUNCIL. City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that the Planning Commission recommended that the Council go on record supporting this organization and appoint a Council Representative to attend these meetings. It was moved by Councilman Jackman, second by Councilman Lowrey, and unanimously carried that the Council approve this recommendation and the City Administrator instructed to write a letter of support. Mayor Andersen appointed Councilman Lowrey as the Council representative to the West San Gabriel Valley Planning Council. There were no objections. B. LOS ANGELES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE., RE: INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT! This communication was presented by Mayor Andersen who advised the Council that it would be placed in the circulating file for their consideration. C. SUPERVISOR FRANK G. 9ONELLI (Not on Agenda) This communication urging support of Proposition C on the November ballot was presented by Mayor Andersen and ordered placed on the September 29 agenda if there were no objections. There were no objections. P D. CITY OF LAKEWOOD (Hot on Agenda) This invitation to attend the dedication of the Mae Boyer Par': was presented by City Administrator Farrell. E. JUNIOR AUXILIARY PHILHARMONIC ASSOCIATIOM. City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that Assemblyman Song had acknowledged receipt of the City's request regarding State mighway problems in the City. Be City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that the Road Depart- ment 'recommended that the road improvements in Tract No. 27012 be approved and the faithful performance bond be released. It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Lowrey, and unanimously carried that the road improvements in Tract No. 27012 be • accepted and the faithful performance bond be released. C. City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that curb, gutter, driveway aprons and sidewalk improvements on Marshall Street, 0700 bloc':, total $2,201.57 and recommended that ~ublic hearing to confirm these assessments be set for October 14, i9Ci•,. Mayor Andersen ordered the public hearing set for October 14, i964, if there were no o'-.jections. There were no objections. D; Councilman Maude advised the Council that the contractor on the Flood Control project is still utilizing the streets for pipe storage. E. Councilman Stead advised the Council that the California Contract Cities urges a yes vote on Proposition 11 on the November ballot. F. Councilman Lowrey advised the Council that Proposition 7 on the November ballot regarding State Employees Retirement warranted a • yes vote. G. Mayor Andersen advised the Council that September 28, 1964 would be Rosemead Day at the Los Angeles County Fair. H. Mayor Andersen reminded the Council that a personnel session will be held on October 14th and requested the Council to give consideration to the Planning Commission appointment to be made at that time. I, Mayor Andersen advised the Council that the Appeal from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Decision on 8902 Valley Boulevard has been filed. J. Mayor Andersen advised the Council that a number of requests have been received from residents in the Annexation No. 24 area to have their mailing address changed to Rosemead. 0 Attorney Beverly recommended that a letter -.e written to the Post Office Department requesting this change. It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Lowrey, and unanimously carried that the City Administrator be instructed to write this letter of request. - 7 - C 9-22-64 0 K. Mayor Andersen advised the Council that a Rehabilitation Board should cc appointed. Following short discussion, the Council concurred that this matter be placed on the September 29, 1964 agenda. L.
