The.meeting was called to order by Mayor Andersen at 7:04 o'clock p:m. l: CALL TO ORDER The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Maude. The Invocation was delivered by Councilman Jackman. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Stead: Absent: Councilmen: None. EX officio: Farrell, Armstrong. i%iayor Andersen stated that this adjourned regular meeting was for the purpose of canvassing the results of the Special Annexation election held September c~: Mayor Andersen opened the election return envelopes and passed the Talley Sheets to City Administrator Farrell who read aloud the results, and Councilman Lowrey who verified the results. Deputy City Clerk Armstrong checked these figures against the Results of Votes Cast sheets. Canvass was as follows: Precinct 1 - Correct Precinct 2 - Correct Absent Voter Ballots: Correct. CITY CLERK'S STATEMENT OF ELECTION RESULTS: That, in accordance with the provisions of Section 22933 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the results of said election are hereby declared to be as follows: a. The whole number of votes cast in said election was 390. b. The measure voted upon at said election was: Shall "Annexation No. 24" be annexed to the City of Rosemead.' c. The number of votes given at each precinct for and against the measure was as follows: For Against Precinct 1 166 47 Precinct 2 129 47 Absent Voter Ballots 1 -0- d6 The total number of votes given for and against the measure was as follows: For 295 Against 94 C 9-14-64 9) 0 0 RESOLUTION NO. 64-67. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL AiiNlEXATION ELECTION HELD IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, KNOWN AS CITY OF ROSEMEAD "ANNEXATION AREA NO. 24" ON THE 8TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1964, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. Mayor Andersen requested this resolution read by title only, if there were no objections. There were no objections. City Administrator Farrell presented this resolution by title only. It was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman Maude, that Resolution No. 04-67 be adopted. Roll call vote as follows: AYES: Councilmen: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Stead. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: None. • ORDINANCE NO. 137. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEX- ATION NO. 24" TO THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD. It was moved by Councilman Jackman, second by Councilman Lowrey, that Ordinance No. 137 be read by title only. Roll call vote as follows: AYES: Councilmen: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Stead. NOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: None. City Administrator Farrell read this ordinance by title only. It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Jackman, that Ordinance No. 137 be introduced. • Roll call vote as follows: AYES: Councilmen: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Stead. HOES: Councilmen: None. ABSENT: Councilmen: None. Mayor Andersen informed the Council that the 1st Annual South San Gabriel Beauty Pageant will be held Friday, September 18, 1964, at 8 p.m. at the Garvey Memorial Auditorium and urged Council members to attend. City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that the Local Agency Formation Commission had approved Annexation No. 25 and also approved deletion of the area east of San Gabriel Boulevard to be included in Annexation No. 27. It was moved by Councilman Lowrey, second by Councilman Maude, • and unanimously carried, that the meeting adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:16 o'clock p.m. MAYOR CITY CLERK - 2 -
