Minutes of June 15, 1964

An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
• Rosemead was held in the Council Chambers, 8815 East Valley
Boulevard. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Andersen at
7:08 o'clock p.m.
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Maude.
The Invocation was delivered by Councilman Stead.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmen: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey, Maude, Stead.
Absent:. Councilmen: None.
Ex officio: Farrell, Wroe, Armstrong.
• Mayor Andersen advised the. Council that this was an adjourned
meeting primarilly for budget study but that two items should be
considered at this time.
City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that a dedication
of right-of-way for Mission Drive had been received from Leah
and. Nicholas Valko. This dedication had been approved by the
County Engineer and was in order for acceptance by the Council.
It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Lowrey,
and unanimously carried,' that this dedication be accepted and
recordation authorized.
RESOLUTION NO. 64-46. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING INTENTION TO SUBMIT THE QUESTION OF
Ai-INEXATION OF TERRITORY' DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 24" TO
• ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TERRITORY AND SETTING A HEARING FOR
WRITTEN PROTESTS AGAINST SAID ANNEXATION, AND GIVING NOTICE
THEREOF.
Mayor Andersen advised the Council that the City Attorney had
prepared a new resolution with respect to Annexation No. 24.
Mayor Andersen presented this resolution by title only and stated
further reading would be waived if there were no objections. There
were no objections.
It was moved by Councilman Maude, second by Councilman Lowrey,
and unanimously carried, that Resolution No. 64-46 be adopted.
BUDGET STUDY
Mayor Andersen advised the Council that several accounts were
increased at the last study session which the Council might like
to reconsider.

Account .61 was changed back to $50,000.

Convention attendance was discussed and the Council concurred
that the City Administrator and the Administrative Assistant
both attend the League of California Cities Conference in
Los Angeles and that they each have a choice as to the other
conference they would attend, either the League Management
Conference or the California Contract Cities Seminar.
Council concurred that attendance of the Treasurer or Deputy
• City Treasurer at the League Conference in Los Angeles be
authorized and attendance at the California Contract Cities
Seminar in Palm Springs be deleted.

Council concurred that the entire Planning Commission should
attend the League of California Cities Conference in Los
Angeles and the Planning Commission Chairman and Vice Chairman
to attend the California Contract Cities Seminar in Palm Springs.
Following discussion of State Retirement, the Council authorized
an actuarial study by the State.
Mayor Andersen declared the meeting recessed to a personnel
session at 9:08 o'clock p.m. Administrative Assistant Wroe and
Deputy City Clerk Armstrong were excused at this time.
Mayor Andersen reconvened the meeting at 10:45 o'clock p.m.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor
Andersen declared the meeting adjourned.
