SUBJECT: RECEIVE AND FILE REPORT — 4` OF JULY FIREWORKS
SUPPRESSION ACTIVITY
DISCUSSION
On July 4"', the Code Enforcement Division performed illegal fireworks suppression
enforcement between the hours of 2 PM and 12 AM. In addition to actively patrolling the City,
Code Enforcement Staff responded to 16 CRM requests, 6 direct phone calls, and internal staff
referrals for service. In all, Staff patrolled the City for illegal fireworks activity and responded to
approximately 47 locations. Following is a list of fireworks suppression activity performed:
• Citations issued onsite on the 0: 3
• Citations issued following the 4": 34
• Onsite warning issued: I1 (e.g., firework items observed but not the act of discharge)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council receive and file the 2019 fireworks suppression activity
report.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.

The 2019 fireworks suppression activity meets the following Key Organizational Goal of the
2018 — 2020 Strategic Plan:
