City Administrator Farrell advised the Council that a problem
had arisen on Temple City Boulevard. Mr. Farrell stated that
for 400 feet on Temple City Boulevard the sub-grade was
extremely wet due to the heavy rains and/or underground seepage,
creating an unstable base for proper compaction. Mr. Farrell
stated that one solution would be to wait for the soil to dry
out which could take several weeks, or to replace approximately
four inches of soil with additional aggregate base material at
a cost of about $1,000.00 for each side of the street.
Following discussion, it was moved by Lowrey, second by Jackman,
that the City Council authorize a $1,000.00 increase in the
contract amount for Temple City Boulevard (Cash contract No.
41159), if it becomes necessary to insure an adequate sub-grade
after waiting three (3) working days.
Roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey,
Phinney, Stead. Noes: None. Absent: None.
It was moved by Lowrey, second by Jackman, and unanimously
carried, that the meeting adjourn. Meeting adjourned at
