CC - 04-05-60 - Adjourned MeetingCITY OF ROSEMEAD ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA Minutes of April 5, 1960 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rosemead was held in the City Hall, 3964 North Rosemead Boulevard. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Buchanan • at 5:35 o'clock p.m. 1. The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Mayor Buchanan. 2. Present: Councilmen: Buchanan, Cook, Horning, Lowrey,'Stead. Absent: Councilmen: None. Ex officio: Woollett, Stump, Armstrong. 3. Mayor Buchanan stated that the approval of minutes would be waived until the next meeting and that only those items necessary would be considered at this meeting. 4. CA Woollett stated a request had been received from Cub Scout Pack 595 to permit 40 boys and 10 adults to solicit funds within the City of Rosemead. It was moved by Lowrey, second by Cook, and unanimously carried that this permit be granted. 5. CA Woollett advised the Council that/lit would be necessary f for them to appoint a board to canvas the absentee ballots. It was suggested by Mayor Buchanan that rather than appoint the Council as the canvassing board that it might be well to appoint the two members of the Council who were not running for office and two others. After a short discussion, it was moved by Lowrey, second by Stead that Councilmen Stead and Lowrey, Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, Bob Petersen and Deputy City Clerk Edythe Armstrong be appointed to canvass the absentee ballots/ Roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Buchanan, Cook, Horning, Lowrey, Stead. Noes: None. Absent: None. CA Woollett stated that a communication had been received foom a resident thanking the Temple City Sheriff's for assistance received during a recent emergency. It was moved by Lowrey, second by Stead and unanimously carried that this communication be received and filed and a copy sent to the Sheriff's Department. /11 Mayor Buchanan asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to address the Council at this time. There was no response. CA Woollett explained that the City Hall would be the location for the final returns on April 12 and explained briefly the procedure which would be followed. • It was moved by Cook, second by Stead, and unanimously carried that the meeting adjourn.
