ORDINANCE NO. 273
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD TEMPORARILY REGULATING
SIGN INSTALLATION AND EXTENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 264 FOR ONE YEAR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 264 of the City of Rosemead
entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
TEMPORARILY REGULATING SIGN INSTALLATION" is hereby readopted and
extended in full force and effect for a term of one year, expiring
August 26, 1970. In order to provide for such extension, said
ordinance shall read as follows:
"Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of
the Rosemea unicipal Code, no blinking, flashing, animated or
giant statuary signs shall be permitted. Revolving signs may
be installed not to exceed 8 revolutions per-:minute.
Section 2. The Planning Commission currently has under
study the provisions of the Rosemead Municipal Code relating to
the regulation of signs and the lighting thereon. In order to
prevent the proliferation of signs and lighting standards now
• under consideration by the Planning Commission, it is necessary
and desireable that the provisions of Section 1 herein shall
apply to all areas of the City pending the outcome of the
Planning Commission's studies. This ordinance is therefore
declared to be an interim zoning ordinance necessary for the
protection of the health, safety and welfare of the City of
Rosemead, and shall be effective for a period of one year from
the date of its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 26th day of
August, 1969.
