Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California. The Pledge to the Flag was led by Councilmember Tran. The Invocation was delivered by Councilwoman Clark. ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: Present: Councilmembers Clark, Nunez, Tran, Mayor Pro Tern Taylor, and Mayor Imperial Absent: None 1. APPROVAL OF CONSENT CALENDAR MOTION BY COUNCILWOMAN CLARK, SECOND BY VICE-CHAIRMAN TAYLOR that the Council approve items 4100 through 4870. Vote resulted: Yes: Clark, Imperial, Nunez, Taylor, Tran No: None Absent: None Abstain: None The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. II. CONSIDERATION OF REMAINING ACCOUNTS (CAPITAL OUTLAY) MOTION BY VICE-CHAIRMAN TAYLOR, SECOND BY COUNCILWOMAN CLARK that the Council approve items 4110 through 4880. Vote resulted: Yes: Clark, Imperial, Nunez, Taylor, Tran No: None Absent: None Abstain: None The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. CCADJMTG:6-7-05 Page H I Ill. PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATIONS Bill Crowe, City Manager, stated that the personnel recommendations include a 3% Cost of Living adjustment and salary adjustments to various positions to bring them into parity with similar positions in comparable cities. Mr. Crowe continued that the recommendation also includes bringing additional part-time employees into the health and PERS benefits program. Vice-Chairman Taylor referring to the change in the Employee Handbook under employee bereavement leave, asked why the wording was changed from "will be required " to "may be required" which requires an employee to present documentation upon taking bereavement leave. Mr. Taylor pointed out that with the change of wording to "may be required", no employees will have to provide documentation. Mr. Crowe explained that documentation will be required when a pattern of abuse is detected. Mr. Taylor asked how will this policy be equally enforced? Councilman Nunez stated the wording gives the option to the administrator to enforce the policy as necessary. MOTION BY VICE-CHAIRMAN TAYLOR, SECOND BY COUNCILWOMAN CLARK that the Council approve the Personnel Recommendations. Vote resulted: Yes: Clark, Imperial, Nunez, Taylor, Tran No: None Absent: None Abstain: None The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered. IV.
