ORDINANCE NO. 244
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD TEMPORARILY
PROHIBITING LOT SPLITS WITHIN THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
AND EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 240 FOR ONE YEAR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section I. Ordinance No. 240 of the City of Rosemead
entitled "AT_0RTITR7INCE OF THE CITY COUNCII OF .THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
TEMPORARILY PROHIBITING LOT SPLITS IN THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD" is
hereby readopted and extended in full force and effect for a term
of one year, expiring Sept. 10, 1969. In order to provide for
such extension, said ordinance shall read as follows:
"Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of
Article 17~ter 4 of the Rosemead Municipal Code to the
contrary, the Planning Commission shall not accept any applica-
tions for the subdividing of property into four or fewer parcels
under Section 9406, nor shall the Planning Commission take any
action to approve or disapprove any tentative or final map
under the provisions of Section 9411 and Section 9416, nor shall
• the City Clerk accept any fees for processing an application
under Section 9406 and Section 9410, of Article 1X, Chapter 4
of the Rosemead Municipal Code, as long as this ordinance or
any extension thereof shall be in effect. Nothing in this
ordinance shall be construed or is intended to affect any
other provisions of Article 1X, Chapter 4 of the Rosemead
Municipal Code other than those enumerated above."
Section 2. The Planning Commission is presently con-
sidering revtsionsin the standards for subdivision of parcels
into four or fewer lots and is currently working on preparing
an ordinance to effectuate such changes. Pending the completion
of such study and ordinance and in order to prevent the develop-
ment of properties in a manner incompatible with proposed new
standards, it is necessary and desirable that no further sub-
division of lots under Article 1X, Chapter 4 of the Rosemead
Municipal Code take place. This ordinance is therefore declared
to be an interim zoning ordinance necessary for the protection
of the health, safety and general welfare of the City of Rosemead
and shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. This
ordinance shall be effective for a period of one year from the
date of its adoption.
