RE: AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES
ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL CITY CONFERENCE,
WASHINGTON D.C. , MARCH 8-11, 1997
Attached for your consideration is information regarding the
aforementioned conference. This conference provides the City with an
opportunity to learn about key issues on the national agenda and how
those will affect cities. This year's topics include: Taxing Cities ,
the Environment, Natural Disasters, Housing & Community Development ,
ISTEA Reauthorization, Public Safety & Special Districts-Barriers to
Municipal Growth. The Council has attended in the past and it has
proven beneficial to the community.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the attendance of
any Councilmember, the City Attorney, the City Manager and staff
designee.
