CC - Item 2A - Presentation by the San Gabriel Council of Governments on the Regional Housing Trust to Support Regional Solutions to Affordable and Homeless Housing in the San Gabriel ValleySGVRHT Member City updates June 2021 1 SGVRHT Overview ▪The San Gabriel Valley Regional Housing Trust (SGVRHT) is a Joint Powers Authority formed by SB 751 (Rubio) to fund and finance the planning and construction of affordable and homeless housing projects. ▪SGVRHT is able to receive and leverage public and private financing. ▪SGVRHT has secured public funds through member city allocations and a state matching grant program ▪SGVRHT is developing an implementation plan to secure private funds ▪The SGVRHT is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors ▪7 representatives from jurisdictions that are members of the SGVRHT ▪2 experts in housing and homelessness.The members are appointed by the Governing Board of the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments ▪22 cities have joined the SGVRHT 2 SGVRHT Board of Directors Jurisdictional Representatives ▪Northeast District: Gary Boyer (City of Glendora) ▪Northwest District: Becky Shevlin (City of Monrovia) ▪Southeast District: Patty Cortez (City of Covina) ▪Central District: Maria Morales(City of El Monte) ▪At-large Member: Adele Andrade-Stadler (City of Alhambra) ▪At-large Member: Margaret Finlay (City of Duarte) ▪At-large Member: Jed Leano, Councilmember, City of Claremont Housing/Homeless Experts: ▪Carol Averell, Housing Manager, City of Baldwin Park (Alternate) ▪Benita DeFrank, Neighborhood Services Director, City of Pomona (Delegate);
