2021 City of Rosemead Student Scholarships
Congratulations to Award Recipients!
1.Annually, Republic Services awards 5 college-bound high school seniors that are Rosemead residents through an essay contest.
2.$1,000 awarded each
3.Applications are shared with local schools, principals, counselors, teachers, social media
4.2021 was the highest participation year since inception of the program!
5.Essay Topics
•Explain “contamination” and solutions to the issue
•Pretend you are the City of Rosemead’s Sustainability Director and design a new food waste recycling program.
•Develop a new school program to help students separate their recyclables, food, and trash.
6.Essays were scored based on research thoroughness, creativity, and level of detail.
