AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
REGULATING MOTELS WITHIN THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD AND EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO.
232 FOR ONE YEAR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 232 of the City of Rosemead
entitled AST N ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD REGULATING MOTELS
WITHIN THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD" is hereby readopted and extended in
full force and effect for a term of one year, expiring April 16,
1969. In order to provide for such extension, said ordinance
shall read as follows:
"Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision
• of the Roseme- ad ihunicipal Code or of any ordinance of the
City of Rosemead, no motel shall be permitted in any zone
in the City of Rosemead. This Ordinance shall not preclude
the maintenance or improvement of any existing motel."
Section 2. The Planning Commission and City Council of
the City oT Rosemead are conducting studies with reference to the
definition, control and regulation of motels in the City. Pending
the completion of such studies and in order to prevent the develop-
ment of properties in a manner incompatible with the zoning classi-
fication and regulations which may be proposed, it is necessary
and desirable that no further motels be established. This ordinance
is therefore declared to be an interim zoning ordinance necessary
for the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the City of
Rosemead, and shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
This ordinance shall be effective for a period of one year from
the date of its adoption.
