THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Oy.ROSEMEAD DOE'S HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Tha~ pu~s,jant to the provisions of the "Annexation o n n abite Tbrt.tory Ac of.19391 as amended, the City Council of the City,q Rtfsem3 ;,on"its` own motion does hereby initiate proceed #gs;for the anne**a- tion to the City of Rosemead of the hereinaftet t1 AcribeN territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, is hereby designated "City of Rosemead Annexa- tion Area No. 4," and is described in Exhibit "A" hereto attached and made a part hereof by reference. Section 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled on December 9, 1959 approve th4,proposed annexation boundaries of said "City of Rosemead Annexation No. 4," duly submitted to said commission. Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Rosemead es annex said territory for the reasons that it is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, and its annexation will contribute to the growth and development of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory. Section 4. That March 8, 1960 at 8:00 o'clock p. m. of s7 aid at 3964 North Rosemead Boulevard, City of Rosemead County of Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour..- set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby 9, or zed and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Rosemead Review, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Rosemead and in the Alhambra Post-Advocate, a newspaper of general cir- culation published outside the City of Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. And the said City Clerk is further authorized-and' directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation td be mailed to each Derson to whom land within the terri- tory proposed to be annexed is assessed on the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addressee shown on said assessment roll: or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the fi°:at public hearing on the proposed annexation. L1 t ~ r_~.....-. .ate. . a • • DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED "ANNEXATION NO. 4" TO THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD (Alternate Description) All that property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly boundary of the City of Rosemead as it existed on November 24, 1959 with the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Marshall Street, formerly New Street, as shown on Map of Tract No. 7177 as per map recorded in Book 84 page 43 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence easterly along said prolongation and southerly line of Marshall Street to the northeasterly corner of Lot 18 of said Tract No. 7177; thence southerly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 21 of Tract No. 7177; thence easterly in a direct line to the north- easterly corner of said Lot 21; thence southerly in a direct line to the southeasterly corner of Lot 22 of said Tract No. 7177; thence westerly in a direct line to the southwesterly corner of said Lot 22; thence southerly along the westerly line of Lots 23 and 24 of said Tract No. 7177 and the southerly prolon- gation thereof to the northerly boundary of the City of El Monte as same existed on November 24, 1959; thence westerly and following the various courses of the City of E1 Monte as same existed on November 24, 1959 to an angle point in the easterly boundary of the City of Rosemead; thence northerly along the easterly boundary of the City of Rosemead to the point of beginning.
