RFP No. 2022-11 - 2022 Landscaping RFP Questions CITY OF ROSEMEAD To all prospective contractors under Request for Proposal No. 2022-11 This document details the questions/comments received for clarification during the period of Thursday, May 12, 2022 through Tuesday, May 17, 2022. 1: Who is the current contractor? Answer: The City’s current landscaping contractor is Evergreen Landscaping. 2: What was to total dollar amount paid for this contract during the recent year of the contract term? Answer: The total contract amount paid to date is $237,158.70. 3: What is the current yearly base contract amount? Answer: The contracted amount per year $343,740.00. 4: How much extra work was done on this contract in the past year? Answer: No extra work was performed over the past year. 5: What year and month was the current contract started? Answer: The current contract began July 1, 2019. 6: Is there a change in scope of work when comparing the current contract to this contract going out to bid? Answer: Yes, additional locations have been added for City maintenance over the past three years. 7: Is a Bid Bond required for this contract? Answer: No, the City does not require a Bid Bond for an ongoing service contractor. 8: The specifications say to dispose or recycle all debris at city designated sites, does the city pay for dumping cost as well? Answer: The City has bins (trash, green waste, E waste) located at various locations that are designated for City waste only. Bins are emptied as a part of the City’s waste management contract. 9: Can the city provide a number of yards of mulch for the contractors to bid on per year? Answer: The City would need more specific information on the type of mulch but it is typically 25 -50 yards per year. Answer: Yes, both licenses listed are required for bidding. 11: Can you confirm that the State of California – Tree Maintenance prevailing wage rates will be required for all tree trimming for this project? Answer: Yes, the State of California – Tree Maintenance prevailing wage rates will be required for this contract. 12: Can the city provide a tree inventory of trees under 12ft tall? Answer: The City has around 7,000 trees with an estimated 5% that are under 12’ tall. 13: What type of plant material will the annual color be? Answer: Plant material for the color changes will be seasonal (i.e. poinsettias during the Christmas holidays and so on). 14: Will the contractor be required to close a lane during normal operations for the median work? Answer: Yes, all standards and guidance should be followed in accordance with CA-MUTCD. 15: Has the current contractor received any noncompliance, deductions, or liquidated damages in the past year? Answer: Yes 16: What is the number of controllers and stations on this contract? Answer: There 37 controllers and 471 stations within the parks, facilities and medians throughout the City.
