JANUARY 27, 2004
The regular meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to order by Mayor Vasquez at
8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard, Rosemead,
California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Councilman Imperial
The Invocation was delivered by Bante Chao Chu of the Rosemead Buddhist Monastery

VII. MATTERS FROM OFFICIALS
Mayor Vasquez, referring to the recent concerns of residents living near Zapopan Park,
requested that staff bring back information about moving the Garvey Substation over to the
vacant Zapopan Community Center. Mayor Vasquez stated that this move would help in
alleviating the problems around that area.
Mayor Vasquez announced that the Rosemead School District named Lt. Wayne Wallace
as their "Golden Apple Recipient for 2003-2004".

IX. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further action to be taken at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 8:06
p.m., in memory of Virginia Wagner, mother of Assistant City Manager Don Wagner, and in
memory of Robert "Buddy" Soto, son of State Senator Nell Soto. The next regular meeting will
be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at 8:00 p.m.
