RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO CITY.OF ROSEMEAD OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN.AND DESIGNATED "CITY
OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA NO._8" AND GIVING
NOTICE OF-TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING.OF PROTESTS,
THERETO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF -THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the
"Annexation of Un nha -'ited Territory Act of 1939 ", as amended;
the City Council of the City of,Rosemead on its own motion does
hereby initiate proceedings for the annexation•to the City of
Rosemead of the hereinafter described territory.; that said
territory is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, is hereby desig-
nated "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. V and is described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly boundary
of the City of-Rosemead as said boundary existed on October 21, 1959,
with the northwesterly prolongation of the northeasterly line of
Lot 1 in Tract No.;7177 as per map recordedin Book 84 page 43
of Maps in the office of the County' lecorder of.Los Angeles County;
thence southeasterly along said.prolongation and:northeasterly
line -of Lot 1.0f.`said Tract No. 7177 to the westerly line of
Baldwin'Adenue, formerly Pirher Avenue 66 feet wide, as shown
on `said map; thence northerly following the westerly line of said
Baldwin Avenue.to the southeasterly corner of the parcel of land
(for 'Valley .Boul-6vard)_ described 'in deed to said county recorded
in Book 54104 page 85_of Official - Records in the office of'said
County Recorder; thence northerly.in a•direct line.to the most
northerly corner of Parcel•B.As described in deed to said county
(for Baldwin Avenue). recorded :.in Book 52878 page 323 of said
Official Records; thence northerly along the westerly line of
Baldwin Avenue as established by Parcel A of said last mentioned
deed to the northeasterly lineof;Lot 62 in Tract No. 7007 as per
map recorded in Book 85, pages'`30'and 31 of Maps in the office of
said County Recorder. Thence northwesterly in a direct line.to .,
the,northwesterly corner of Lot 55 in said Tract No. 7007; thence
northwesterly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner of
Lot.4 in said Tract No. 7007; thence northwesterly in a direct
line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 1 in said Tract No. 7007,'
said last mentioned point being also.a point in the easterly line
of Parcel No. 4 as shown on Record of Survey.Map filed in Book 40
page 49 of Records of Surveys in the office of said County Recorder;
thence northerly in a direct line to.the northeasterly corner of
'-said Parcel No. 4; thence northwesterly in .a direct line'.to the
northwesterly corner of-Parcel No. l as shown on said map.of
Record of Survey filed in Book 40 page 49 of Records of Surveys,
said last mentioned point being.also a point in the easterly line
of -land included in map'of Record of Survey filed in Book 43 page
13 of Records of Surveys in the office of said County.Recorder;
thence southerly along said last mentioned easterly line to.a point'
that is South 170 57' 40" West thereon 1318.88 feet from the
northerly line of Lot 4 of F. W. Gibson Tract as,per map recorded
in Book 15 page:39_of Miscellaneous Records in the office of said
County Recorder; thence North 720 02' 201141. -West 90.00 feet- thence
North 170 57' 40" East 10.00-feet; thence North 720 02' 20l' West
142.73 feet to the westerly line of land included in said map
of "Record'of Survey filed in ,:Book 43 page 13 of Record of Surveys;
thence northwesterly in a direct line to an-angle point in the
easterly boundary of the City of Rosemead, said angle point being
the intersection of the southerly prolongation of the easterly
line of Lot 7 in Tract No. 14715 as per map recorded in Book 327
pages 3,.4 and 5 of Maps in'the office of said County Recorder
with the easterly line of Lot 4 in Tract No. 3749 as per map
recorded in Book 44.page.38 of Maps in the office of said County
Recorder; thence southerly and following the various courses of
the boundary of the City of Rosemead to the point of beginning.
Section 2. That the County Boundary Commission of
Los Angeles County ,California did in session duly assembled on
November 4, 1959 approve the proposed annexation boundaries of
said "City of Rosemead Annexation No. 8" duly submitted to said
commission.
Section I. That the City Council of the City of
Rosemead desires to annex said territory for the reasons..that it is
contiguous to the City of Rosemead and its annexation will contri-
bute to the growth and development of both.the City of Rosemead and
of said territory.
Section 4'. That June 1"4, "1960 at 8:00 o'clock
P.M. of said day, at 4. North..Rosemead Boulevard, City of Rose-
mead, County,of,Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby fixed
as the time and place when and where any person. wning real pro -
perty within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed
to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and having any objections
to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the
City of Rosemead and show cause why such uninhabited territory
should not be so annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest
must be in writing,.may be filed at any time before the hour set
for hearing objections to the proposed annexation.and shall state
the name or names . of the owner or owners of property affected and,
the description and area of such property in general terms.
Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is
hereby authorizerected to cause,a'copy of this resolution
to be.published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week
in the Rosemead Review, a newspaper of general circulation pub -
lished in the City of Rosemead in the Alhambra Post- Advocate,
a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of
Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles,.California; the county
in which is located the territory - proposed to be annexed to the
Ci of Rosemead, said publication to be complete at least twenty
(20� days prior to the date set for hearing.
..And the said City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll
available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated,
at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the
designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal
or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less
than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the pro -
posed annexation.
