-RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING DEPARTMENT OF
CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL TO PROVIDE CROSSING GUARD
SERVICES FOR THE 1960-61 SCHOOL YEAR
WHEREAS,.this Council has been advised and it finds that
it is necessary and desirable that adequate protection be
provided for public school pupils who are required to cross
heavily traveled highways in the incorporated City of Rosemead
in the County of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, this Council has been advised and it finds that
it is necessary and desirable to provide such protection, by
means of crossing guards, at such locations as may be desig-
nated by the Council in the City of Rosemead, State of California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Rosemead, County of LosAngeles, State.of California, in
regular session assembled this 21st day of June, 1960, that this
council does hereby request and authorize the Department of
California Highway Patrol of the State of California to provide
the services of crossing guards for the 1960-61 fiscal year
at such locations as may be designated by the Council, in the
City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles; State of California,
so that adequate protection may be afforded to public school
pupils who are required to cross the said highways, which are
heavily traveled; and which are located in the incorporated
City of Rosemead, in the County of Los Angeles;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Rosemead agrees
to pay the Controller of the State of California the cost
of providing said services,-to include salaries'and wages of
said crossing guards and an amount not to exceed 16.5`/a of said
salaries and wages for general administration expenses of the
State of California-Highway Patrol;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Rosemead further
agrees to pay the employer's share of retirement contribution,
if any, not to exceed the rate of 8.18% of the compensation of
a member of the Retirement System whose compensation i6
chargeable to the City of Rosemead hereunder, plus $2.50 per
each such member per year for the cost of administration of
the Retirement System;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the California Highway Patrol
or the State Controller.of the State of California render
to the City of Rosemead at the close of each calendar quarter
an itemized statement covering all services performed during
said quarter and that said City pay the State Controller
therefor within thirty days after receipt of such statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that either party may terminate
said service as of the 30th day of June of any year upon
notice in writing to the other party of not less than two
calendar months prior to date of such termination;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution
be sent to the Department of California Highway Patrol of the
State of California, and to the Controller of the State of
Califomia;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the locations at which the
California Highway Patrol is requested to provide the services
of such crossing guards are as follows:
Mission Drive and Earl Street
Marshall.Street and Temple City Boulevard
Wells Street and Walnut Grove Avenue
Marshall Street and Walnut Grove Avenue
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that relief guards be provided in
addition to the regular.guards, to take the place of regularly
employed guards when they are off duty due to illness or for
any other reason.
