CC - 1960 - 39 - Annexation Area No. 9RESOLUTION NO. 60-39 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF ROSEMEAD OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRI- TORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CITY OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA NO. 9" AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexati-on o Jninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of Rosemead on its own motion does hereby initiate proceedings for the annexation to the City of Rosemead of the hereinafter described territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, is hereby desig- nated "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. 9" and is described as follows: All that property in the City of E1 Monte, County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at an angb point in the northwesterly boundary of the City of Rosemead as said boundary existed on May 31, 1960, said angle point being a point in the northwesterly line of Temple City Boulevard (formerly Ellis Lane) as per Superior Court Case No. 270698 on file in the Office of the County Clerk of said county that is distant northerly thereon 241.63 feet from the intersection of said northwesterly line with the northerly line of Valley Boulevard, 66 feet wide, as shown on the map of Tract No. 14535 recorded in Book 298 pages 6 and 7 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county; thence north- westerly.along the southwesterly boundary of the City of Rose- mead a distance of 283.96 feet; thence southwesterly parallel with said northwesterly line of Temple City Boulevard to a point in the northerly line of said Valley Boulevard, said point being also a point in the northerly boundary of the City of Rosemead; thence easterly and following the various courses. of the boundary of the City of Raemead to the point of beginning. Section 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled on June 22, 1960 approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "City of Rosemead Annexation No. 9" duly submitted to said commission. Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Rosemead desires to annex said territory for the reasons that it is con- tiguous to the City of Rosemead, and its annexation will contri- bute to the growth and development of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory. Section That August 23, 1960 at 8:00 o'clock p.m. of said ay, at 964 North Rosemead Boulevard, City of Rosemead County of Los Angeles, State of California,.is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning-real pro- perty within the uninhabited territory above described and pro- posed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and having any object- ions to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state 0 C the name or names of the owner or owners.of property affected, and the description and area of such property in general term, Section 6. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby autTir-'ize~lc and,directed to cause a-copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Rosemead Review, a'newspaper of general circulation-pub-w: lished in the City of Rosemead and in the;Alhambra Post-Advocate, a..newspaper of general circulation published outside the Clty'of Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles., California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. And the said City Clerk is further.authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at-the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest,. either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation; And in the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed, is owned by a county, the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation; And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
