CC - 1960 - 76 - Annexation Area No. 12Q RESOLUTION NO. 60 - 725 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF ROSEMEAD OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CITY OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA NO. 12" AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of Rosemead on its own motion does hereby initiate proceedings for the annexation to the City of Rosemead of the hereinafter described tdderritory;that said gnatedor'N y 0 osemeedt4nnezatioX R~eaoJo 12'and lisredesYcdeis6ed ad follows: Beginning at the intersection of the southerly pro- longation of the centerline of Walnut Grove Avenue, 60 feet wide,. as per map of Tract No. 5602 recorded in Book 55, page 100 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, with northerly boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on September 13, 1960; thence northerly along said prolongation and centerline of Walnut Grove Avenue to the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of the northerly 81.12 feet of Lot 3 in said Tract No. 5602; thence easterly along the westerly prolongation of said southerly line and said southerly line and the easterly prolongation of said southerly line to the westerly line of Burton Avenue, 60 feet wide as per map filed in Book 30, pages 2 to 12 in- clusive of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County Re- corder of said County; thence southerly along said westerly line of Burton Avenue and its southerly prolongation to said northerly boundary of the City of Rosemead; thence westerly along the northerly boundary of the City of Rosemead to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California did in session duly assembled on September 28, 1960, approve the proposed annexation bound- aries of said "City of Rosemead Annexation No. 12" duly sub- mitted to said commission. SECTION 3. That the City Council of the City of Rose- mead desires to annex said territory for the reasons that it is contiguous to the City of Rosemead and its annexation will contribute to the growth and development of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory. SECTION 4. That November 22, 1960, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. of said ay, at 954 North Rosemead Boulevard, City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real pro- perty within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show cause why such unin- habited territory should not be so•annexed'to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. O SECTION 5• The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolu- tion to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the Rosemead Review, a newspaper of general circula- tion published in the City of Rosemead in the Alhambra Post- Advocate, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be an= nexed to the City of Rosemead, said publication to.be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner requited by law.
