Reminder 1: Please sign Addenda Acknowledgement on page CBF-6 of Bid Package Section
Titled “Contract Bid Forms”. Entire Contract Bid Forms section shall be
submitted as Bidder’s Proposal.
Reminder 2: The bids are due at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
Addendum 1 reissues Bid Schedule on pages CBF-2 through CBF-5 of Bid Package. See
Attachment A - Revised Bid Schedule per Addendum 1. Bid Item 42 quantity is revised from
5 ea to 3 ea. Contractors shall submit this revised bid schedule to be considered responsive.
Addendum 1 also reissues Sheet 6 of 14 (Sheet LC.2) of Bid Package, Section titled “Appendix
A-Project Plans”. See Attachment B - Revised Sheet 6 of 14 (Sheet LC.2).
This addendum also provides responses to the following questions received:
Question 1: Refer to sheet LI.1, please confirm the type of existing irrigation controller. Is it
conventional or 2-wire system. Also, please confirm if there are existing wire sleeves under
existing paved areas that can be utilized for new wires installation along existing mainline.
Response 1: The existing irrigation controller is conventional. It is unknown if there are
existing sleeves under existing paving. Install new sleeves where necessary.
Question 2: Refer to specification 02 9000, two ratios are provided for planting backfill, one
per article 1.03F and the other one per article 3.06 C. Please clarify which ratio shall be used
for bidding purposes.
Response 2: Please use ratio specified in section 1.03F for bidding.
Question 3: Per construction material schedule on sheet LC.1, three call-outs are shown for
boulders (A, B & C). However, only callout "A" is shown for all the boulders on sheet LC.2.
Please revise accordingly if they marked incorrectly. Also, confirm that boulders table shown
on detail 6/ LC.3 does not apply to this project.
Response 3: LC.2 is revised with appropriate callout for boulders. Boulder table on Detail 6/
LC.3 does not apply.
Question 4: Per bid item no.42, 5 EA dog waste bag dispenser is required for this project.
However, only 3 EA are shown on plans. Please clarify.

Response 4: There are only 3 dog waste bag dispensers, bid Item no. 42 revised to show 3 ea.
Question 5: Refer to specifications section 02 90 00, part 2.02 states "Topsoil if required in
planting area shall be class A topsoil". Please confirm that no import topsoil is required for this
project and existing site soil can be re-used for planting purposes. Also, please provide the soil
report rot he site if it’s available.
Response 5: Existing top soil may be used for planting. Any additional topsoil needed will be
per specifications.
Question 6: Per Greenbook standard 2018, section 800-2.2.7, Valve boxes shall be constructed
of precast concrete. However, refer to irrigation legend on sheet LI.1, Carson plastic valve box
are shown. Please clarify which one shall be used.
Response 6: Plastic valve boxes as shown in irrigation legend on sheet LI.1 are to be used.
Question 7: Refer to sheet LI.2, the irrigation note in the box shows: do not install valves in
turf. Please confirm that the same requirements per installation detail applies for valves
installation at decomposed granite paving areas. Otherwise, please advise.
Response 7: Note incorrect. Valves may be installed in turf.
Question 8: Refer to Irrigation legend on sheet LI.1, mainline material is shown as schedule
40 PVC pipe. However, per specifications section 02 81 00, part 2.02A, Class 315 solvent weld
PVC pipe shall be used. Please clarify.
Response 8: Use Class 315 per Specifications.
Question 9: Refer to detail H on sheet LI.3, 90% clean backfill shall be used for sleeve
installation. However, specifications section 02 81 00, part 3.03E states providing sand backfill
for all pipe under paved areas. Please confirm that excavated native materials can be used for
backfilling pipes & sleeves.
Response 9: Native material can be used as backfill for pipes and sleeves. If any rocky soils
are discovered sand is to be used per note 2 on Detail G, Sheet LI.3.

Note: The City of Rosemead reserves the right to reduce or increase the quantities of any items in
the schedule of bid items above, within the limits define in Section 3-2.2.1 of the Standard
Specifications, to stay within the budgeted amount of this project.
If the Bid Documents specify alternate bid items, the following Alternate Bid amounts shall
be added to or deducted from the Total Bid Price entered above. The owner can choose to
include one or more of the alternates in the Total Bid Price of the Project. If any of the
Alternate Bids are utilized by the Owner, the resulting amount shall be considered the Total
Bid Price for the Project.
The undersigned agrees that these Contract Bid Forms constitute a firm offer to the Owner which
cannot be withdrawn for the number of Working Days indicated in the Notice Inviting Bids from
and after the bid opening date, or until a Contract for the Work is fully executed by the Owner and
a third party, whichever is earlier. The undersigned also agrees that if there is a discrepancy
between the written amount of the Bid Price and the numerical amount of the Bid Price, the written
amount shall govern.
Attached hereto is a certified check, a cashier's check or a bid bond in the amount of

percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. The undersigned agrees that said amount shall be retained
by the Owner if, upon award, we fail or refuse to execute the Contract and furnish the required
bonds, certificates and endorsements of insurance and other certifications within the time provided.
If awarded a Contract, the undersigned agrees to execute the formal Contract, which will be
prepared by the Owner for execution, within five (5) Calendar Days following the Letter of Award
for the Contract, and will deliver to the Owner within that same period the necessary original
Certificates of Insurance, Endorsements of Insurance, Performance Bond, Payment Bond and all
other documentation and certification required by the Contract.
