A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD REQUESTING ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC
SIGNALS-
WHEREAS, traffic through the intersection of Valley
Boulevard and Rosemead Boulevard in the City of Rosemead has
greatly increased since the existing two-way traffic lights
were installed, and
WHEREAS, large numbers of automobiles traversing
said intersection attempt to make left turns from Rosemead
Boulevard onto Valley Boulevard and from Valley Boulevard onto
Rosemead Boulevard and as a result of such attempted turns
and the large volume of traffic moving on said boulevards
the normal flow of traffic is seriously impeded thereby in-
conveniencing large numbers of the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the channelization of traffic for left
hand turns at said intersection does not provide an adequate
solution to the problem and the traffic conditions in and
approaching said intersection have become hazardous to life
and property and such conditions are worsening,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State
Division of Highways of the State of California is hereby re-
quested and urged to provide three-way traffic signal lights
at said intersection of Valley Boulevard and Rosemead Boulevard
in the City of Rosemead.
RESOLVED FURTHER that certified copies of this re-
solution be forwarded to the State Division of Highways, to
Montivel Burke, Assemblyman from the Fifty Third Assembly
District and to Richard Richards, State Senator from Los
Angeles County.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of March,
1961.
