CC - 1961 - 22 - Annexation Area No. 15RESOLUTION NO. 61-22 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF ROSEMEAD OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CITY OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA NO. 15" AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexat ono Uninhabited Territory Act of 193911, as amended, the City Council of the City of Rosemead on its own motion does hereby initiate proceedings for the annexation to the City of Rosemead of the hereinafter described territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, is hereby designated "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. 15" and is described as follows: All that property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly prolonga- tion of the center line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as shown on Map of Tract No. 10732, as per map recorded in Book 185, page 27 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said county, with the westerly boun- dary of the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on March 3, 1961; thence westerly along said prolonga- tion and center line of Garvey Avenue to the intersec- tion of said center line with the center line of Stingle. Avenue, 60 feet wide, said last mentioned center line being a line which is parallel with the westerly line of Lot 5 of Tract No. 830, as per map recorded in Book 16, page 117 of Maps, in the office of said county recorder, and which passes through a point in the northerly line of said Lot 5, distant thereon easterly 401 feet from the northwest corner of said Lot 5; thence southerly along said center line of Stingle Avenue 175 feet to a line which is parallel with and distant southerly 145 feet,, measured at right angles, from the northerly line of said Lot 5; thence westerly along said last mentioned parallel line 269 feet to a line which is parallel with the westerly line of said Lot 5 and passes through a point in the northerly line of said Lot 5, distant thereon easterly 132 feet from the northwest corner of said Lot 5, (said last mentioned parallel line is shown on Licensed Sur- veyor's Map _^s per map filed in Book 32, page 17, of Records of Survey in'the office of the recorder of said county); thence northerly along said last mentioned parallel line 175 feet to the center line of Garvey Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 3706 as per map recorded in Book 40, page 39 of Maps, in the office of said county recorder; thence westerly along said last mentioned center line to the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 128 of said Tract ido. 3706; thence northerly along said prolongation and westerly line of Lot 128 to a line which is parallel with and distant southerly 100 feet, measured along the westerly line of said Lot 128, from the northerly line of said Lot 128; thence easterly along said last mentioned para- llel line to a westerly line of Lot 129 of said Tract No. 3706; thence southerly along said westerly line of Lot 129 to a point therein that is distant northerly 150 feet from the southwesterly corner of said Lot 129; thence easterly and parallel with the southerly line of said Lot 129 and the easterly prolongation of said southerly line of Lot 129.to the,cent or, line of I said Trag er line o a line -A feet 'me of said 1' t 150; tb Lot 151 of said Tract 66-westerly line of1,s rner of said Lot 15;. venue, 40 feet 3706; thence t'Avenue to the parallel with d along the No~3706, from the e.$$.sterly along allel line to the ~Vo. 3706; thence id Lot 151 to the #ence easterly along the northerly line of. said Lot 1,11 to the westerly boundary of;the City of Rosemead, as'-same existed on March 3, 1961; thence southerly and following the various Courses of the boundary of the City of Rosemead, as same e;:i.sted on March 3, 1961, to the point of beginning. SECTION 4. That May 9, 19619 at 8:00 o'clock P. M. of said day, at 354 North Rosemead Boulevard, City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of Califom ia, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real pro- perty within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show cause why such unin- habited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolu- tion to be published at least twice, but not oftennr than once a week in the Rosemead Review, a newspape_ of general circula- tion published in the City of Rosemead and in the Alhambra Post- Advocate, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be an- nexed to the City of Rosemead, said publication to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the -at hearir_g. And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the add~eoses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. -2- , I 0 And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
