CC - 1961 - 23 - County Lot Split Ordinance- s • RESOLUTION NO. 61-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD URGING THE ENACTMENT OF A COUNTY LOT SPLIT ORDINANCE BY THE BOARD OF SUPER- VISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY. WHEREAS, The City of Rosemead has heretofore adopted a lot split ordinance which enables the City to effectively regulate the creation of new lots which are not subject to or controlled by the Subdivision Map Act of the State of California; and WHEREAS, such lot split ordinance appears to be ex- tremely beneficial in enabling the City to obtain proper street dedications, adequate street improvements, and the overall co- ordination of new lots with the surrounding area; and WHEREAS, Los Angeles County presently does not have any ordinance controlling the division of land in the County in respect to dividing land into two, three, or four parcels; and WHEREAS, the lack of such an ordinance regulating the division of County land into new lots not subject to the Sub- division Map Act of the State of California allows the creation of new lots on a wide-spread scale by property owners in the County without regard to an orderly coordination of such new lots with surrounding City and County areas, resulting in hazardous and undesirable traffic conditions, flood hazard con- ditions, and a deterrent to proper community development; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: SECTION I: That the City Council of the City of Rosemead hereby requests the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to enact a lot split ordinance to regulate the division of parcels of land in the County that do not come under the jurisdiction of the Subdivision Map Act of the State of California. SECTION 2: The City Clerk is instructed to certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and transmit a copy hereof to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County.
