CC - 1961 - 56 - Annexation Area No. 1811A~ '7 WS AS FOL O. section That pursuant to the provisions of the "Aniexat on o .-Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of Rosemead on its own motion doe's hereby initiate proceedings for the annexation to the City of Rosemead of the hereinafter described territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City. of, Rosemead, is hereby designated "city of. Rosemead Annexation Area No 18" and is described as follows: THERETO:,: THE CITY COUNCIL OF 1E CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE All that property in the County of Los Angeles; State of California, bounded and described As follows: Begnning at a point in the southerly boundary of the City.of_Rosemead, as said boundary existed on Ju1-'3 1961 ;:Said point being the weste 1y to inus of the straight line:pottion ofthe_Southetly line of tot 44,69 Tract Noi 12492 As peimap recorded in Book 2451 pages 39 to 41, inclusive cif Maps ih the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence north- westerly and northerly following the boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed as of July 5, 1961, to a point in the westerly boundary of the City of Rosemead,d istant therein 230.42 feet more or less.from the southerly line of Block H of the Freer Tract, as per map recorded in Book 39, page 82 of Mis- cellaneous Records in the office of said County Recorder, said last mentioned point being the most northerly corner of the land described in deed from the State of California to F. R. Webb recorded September 19, 1956, as Instrument No. 3712 in Book 52342 page 275 of Official Records of said county; thence along the northwesterly line of the land described in said deed, south 410 34 26" West 123.29 feet; thence along the westerly line of the land described in said deed and along the southerly prolongation thereof, South 200 22' 20" West to the center line of HellmanAvenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract No. 12492; thence westerly along said center line to the center line of San Gabriel Boulevard, 80 feet wide, as said last mentioned center line is shown on map of Tract No. 11568 as per map recorded in Book 209, pages 24 and 25 of Maps in the office of said County Recorder; thence southerly along said center line of San Gabriel Boulevard to the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 43 of said Tract No. 11568; thence easterly along said last men- tioned prolonged line and southerly line of said Lot 43 to the southeasterly corner of said Lot 43; thence easterly in a direct line to the southwesterly corner of Lot 40 of said Tract No. 11568• thence northerly along the westerly line of said Lot 40 and the westerly line of Lot 41 of said Tract No. 11568 to the northwesterly corner of said Lot 41; thence northerly parallel with the westerly line of Gladys Avenue, 60 feet wide, as -1- shown on map of said Tract No. 11568 to the southerly line of said Hellman Avenue; thence northerly in a direct line to the point of beginning. Section 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled on August 2, 1961, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "City of Rosemead Annexation Area No. 18" duly submitted to said Commission. Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Rosemead desires to annex said territory for the reasons that it is con- tiguous to the City of Rosemead and its annexation will contribute to the growth and development of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory. Section 4. That September 26, 1961, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. of said ay, at 815 East Valley Boulevard, City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real pro- perty within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show cause why such unin- habited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must be in writing; may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby au-Morized and directed to cause a copy of this resolu- tion to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the Rosemead Review, a newspaper of general circula- tion published in the City of Rosemead and in the Alhambra Post- Advocate, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Rosemead but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be an- nexed to the City of Rosemead, said publication to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on s aid assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interst, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. ADOPTED this 8th day of August, 1961, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen -Andersen, Jackman, Lowrey, Phinney, Stead. NOES: Councilmen -None.
