RESOLUTION NO. 70- 1.05
-A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD ORDERING THE FORMATION
OF THE ROSEMEAD CITY LIGHTING DISTRICT,
A STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT PURSUANT.
TO THE STREET LIGHTING ACT OF 1919.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY•OF ROSEMEAD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council heretofore ordered
the making and =iing of a report pursuant to the provisions
of Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California.
Section 2. On October 13, 1970, pursuant to
said order _oTTFe City Council and to the provisions of
Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code, a
written report was filed with the City Clerk relating to
a proposed street lighting improvement and the formation
of a street lighting district.
Section 3. On October 13, 1970, said City Council
duly adopted ResoTi-ition No. 70-97, being a resolution of
intention to order the proposed street lighting improvement
and to form a street lighting district comprising the
area proposed to be assessed for such improvement, and
appointing a time and place for the hearing of protests in
relation to the proposed street lighting improvement and
formation of the proposed street lighting district.
Section 4. Notice of the time and place for
hearing sue protests was duly published and posted pur-
suant to said Resolution No. 60-87 and to the provisions
of Chapter 5 of Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and
Highways Code.
Section 5. On November- 10, 1970, the time and
place appoint- eT-theref-or, said City Council considered
and passed upon all protests filed and denied any such
protests and said City Council thereupon acquired juris-
diction to proceed with the improvement.
Sect=ion 6. It is hereby ordered that the
improvement proposed in said report and Resolution No.
70-97 adopted by the City Council- of the City of Rosemead
on October 13, 1970, viz, the installation, maintenance,
operation, repair, supervision and all other services and
work necessary for the effective operation of a street
lighting system, together with all necessary appliances
and appurtenances thereto, be made.
Section 7. A street lighting district is here-
by formed an esta lislied to be designated as the Rosemead
City Lighting District, the boundaries of which district
are described as follows:

Section 8. The exact boundaries of the proposed
lighting ird ;t1ic~ t are as shown'on the map attached hereto
marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof.
Section 9. The improvements of the street light-
ing system sOll-be for a period of twenty (20) years, com-
mencing on July 1, 1971, -and ending on June 30, 1991.
Section 10. The City Council hereby declares
that any lots or parcels of land belonging to the. United
States of America, or to the State of California, or to the
County of Los Angeles, or to the City of Rosemead, or to

any school district or public agency, in use in the a
performance of any public function, which are included
within the proposed assessment district, shall be omitted
from the assessment hereafter to be made to cover the costs
and expenses of the proposed improvement.
Section 11. The improvement hereby ordered con-
sists of t e cT onstruction, maintenance, repair, supervision,
and all other services and work necessary for the effective
operation of the street lighting system to be known.as
the Rosemead City Lighting District.
Section 12. The estimated cost of the improve- j
ment for t e first fiscal year beginning July 1, 1971 and jl
ending June 30, 1972 is determined to be $81',151.38. The
City of Rosemead shall bear none of the estimated cost of t
the Rosemead City Lighting District, for the first fiscal 3
year or any year thereafter.

Section 13. It is ordered that the estimated
costs,to be orne y the district be paid by special assess- jl
ment taxes levied upon all the lands, exclusive of improve-
ments; within the respective zones within such district. t
Section 14. The City Clerk is directedto file f i
a certifie copy o this resolution, together with a map j a
or plat of the district created herewith with the County
Assessor of Los Angeles County and with the State Board of
Equalization.
