TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIG*%2 D "CITY
OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA N0. 2~" AND GIVING
NOTICE'OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section,l. That pursuant to the, Provisions of the
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," as
amended, the City Council of the City of Rosemead on its
own motion does hereby initiate proceedings for the annexa-
tion to the City of Rosemead of the hereinafter described
territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City
of Rosemead, is hereby designated "City of Rosemead Annexa-
tion Area No. 2," and is described in Exhibit "A" hereto
attached and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of
Rosemead to annex said territory for the reasons
that it is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, and its
annexation will contribute to the growth and development
of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory.
Section 3. That December 22, 1959, at 8:00 o'clock
P.M. of''aaicT_Jay, at 3964 North Rosemead Boulevard, City of
Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State of California, is
hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person
owning real property within the uninhabited territory above
described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead
and having any objections to the proposed annexation may
appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show
cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so
annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must be in
writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for
hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall
state the name or names of the owner or owners of property
affected and the description and area of such property in
general terms.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead
is hereby ut o ized and directed to cause a copy of this
resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener
than once a week, in the Rosemead Review, a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Rosemead and
in the Alhambra Post Advocate, a newspaper of general cir-
culation published outside the City of Rosemead but in the
County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is
located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of
Rosemead, said publication to be complete at least twenty
(20) days prior to the date set for hearing.
And the said City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to each person to whom land within the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized
county assessment roll available on the date the above said
proceedings-were initiated, at the addresses shown on said
assessment roll or known to said Cler1; and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of
the lands in which he has an interest; either legal.or
equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not
less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing
on the proposed annexation;
And in the event any land within.the territory pro-
posed to be annexed is owned by a coutity, the said City
Clerk is directed to cruse written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the Board'of Supervisors of
such county, such notice to be given not less than twenty
(20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed
annexation;
And the•said City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice to be..given to such other persons as may be legally
entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.

21, 1959, with the northwesterly prolongation of the
northeasterly line of Lot 1 in Tract No. 7177 as per map
recorded in Book 84 page 43 of Maps in the office of the
County Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence southeasterly
along said northeasterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract No.
7177 to the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue, formerly Pitcher
Avenue; thence northerly following the various courses of
the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue to the northeasterly line
of Lot 62 in Tract No. 7007 as per map recorded in Book 85,
pages 30 and 31 of Maps in the office of said County Recorder;
thence northwesterly in a direct line to the northwesterly
corner of Lot 55 in said Tract No. 7007; thence northwest-
erly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner of Lot 4
in said Tract No. 7007; thence northwesterly in a direct line
to the northwesterly corner of Lot 1 in said Tract No. 7007,
said last mentioned point being also a point in the easterly
line of Parcel No. 4 as shown on Record of Survey map filed
in Book 40 page 49 of Records of Surveys in the office of
said County Recorder; thence northerly in a direct line to
the northeasterly corner of said Parcel No. 4; thence north-
westerly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of
Parcel No. 1 as shown on said map of Record of Surveys filed
in Book 40 page 49 of Record of Surveys, said last men-
tioned point being also a point in the easterly line of
land included in map of Record of Surveys filed in Book 43
page 13 of Records of Surveys in the office of said County
Recorder; thence southerly along said last mentioned
easterly line to a point that is South 170 57' 40" West
thereon 1318.88 feet from the northerly line of Lot 4 of
F. W. Gibson Tract as per map recorded in Book 15 page 39
of Miscellaneous Records in the office of said County
Recorder; thence North 720 02' 20" West 90.00 feet- thence
North 170 57' 40" East 10.00 feet; thence North 72$ 02' 20"
West 142.73 feet to the westerly line of land included in
said map of Record of Survey filed in Book 43 page 13 of
Record of Surveys; thence northwesterly in a direct line
to an angle point in the easterly boundary of the City of
Rosemead, said angle point being the intersection of the
southerly prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 7 in
Tract No. 14715 as per map recorded in Book 327 pages 3,
4 and 5 of Maps in the office of said County Recorder with
the easterly.line of Lot 4 in Tract No. 3749 as per map
recorded in Book 44 page 38 of Maps in the office of said
County Recorder; thence southerly and following the various
courses of the boundary of the City of Rosemead to the point
