RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO CITY OF ROSEMEAD OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CITY
OF ROSEMEAD ANNEXATION AREA N0. 43," AND GIVING
NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS
THERETO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD.DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS.::
Section 1. That pursuant to the.provisions of the
"Annexat o3 of-Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," as
amended, the City Council of the City of Rosemead on its
own motion does hereby initiate proceedings for the annexa-
tion to the City of Rosemead of the hereinafter described
territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City
of Rosemead, is hereby designated "City of Rosemead Annexa-
tion Area No. 4," and is described in Exhibit "A" hereto
attached and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Loa
Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled on
December 9, 1959, approve the proposed annexation boundaries
of said "City of Rosemead Annexation No. 4," duly submitted to
said commission.
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of
Rosemead e~ Ts e to annex said territory for the reasons
that it is contiguous to the City of Rosemead, and its
annexation will contribute to the growth and development
of both the City of Rosemead and of said territory.
Section 4, That January 26,1960 at 8;00 o'clock
P.M, of sa3a"cTay, at 3964 North Rosemead Boulevard, City of
Rosemead County of Los Angeles, State of California, is
hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person
owning real property within the uninhabited territory above
described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Rosemead.
and having any objections to the proposed annexation may
appear before the Council of the City of Rosemead and show
cause why such uninhabited territory should not be'so
annexed to said City of Rosemead. Such protest must-be in
writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for
hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and..shall
state the name or names of the owner or owners of property
affected and the description and area of such property in
general terms.
Section 5. The City Clerk of the.City of Rosemead
is hereby amazed and directed to cause a copy of this
resolution;to be published at least twice, but not oftener
than once a week in the Rosemead Review,: a newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Rosemead and
in the Alhambra Post-Advocate, a newspaper of general cir-
culation published outside the City of Rosemead but in the
County of Los Angeles, California,, the county in which is
located the territory proposed to be annexed to the,City of
Rosemead, said publication to be complete at least twenty
(20) days prior to the date set for hearing.
And the said City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such. proposed annexation
to be mailed to each person to whom land within the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed is assessed on the last equalized
county: assessment roll available on the date the above said-
proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said
assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of
the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or
equitable, with said Clerk, such notice, to be given not
less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing
on the proposed annexation;
And in the event any land within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed is owned by a county, the said City
Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of
such county, such notice to be given not less than twenty
(20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed
annexation;
And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally
entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
ADOPTED this 15th day of December, 1959 by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Buchanan, Cook, Horning,
Lowrey, Stead.
NOES: Councilmen - None....
ABSENT: Councilmen - None.

(Alternate Description)

All that property in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California, bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly boundary of
the City of Rosemead as it existed on November 24, 1959 with
the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Marshall
Street, formerly New Street, as shown on Map of Tract No. 7177
as per map recorded in Book 84 page 43 of Maps in the office
of the County Recorder of said County; thence easterly along
said prolongation and southerly line of Marshall Street to the
northeasterly corner of Lot 18 of said Tract No. 7177; thence
southerly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 21
of Tract No. 7177; thence easterly in a direct line to the north-
easterly corner of said Lot 21; thence southerly in a direct
line to the southeasterly corner of Lot 22 of said Tract No.
7177; thence westerly in a direct line to the southwesterly
corner of said Lot 22; thence southerly along the westerly line
of Lots 23 and 24 of said Tract No. 7177 and the southerly prolon-
gation thereof to the northerly boundary of the City of E1 Monte as
same existed on November 24, 1959; thence westerly and following
the various courses of the City of E1 Monte as same existed on
November 24, 1959 to an angle point in the easterly boundary of
the City of Rosemead; thence northerly along the easterly boundary
of the City of Rosemead to the point of beginning.
