PUBLICATION THEREOF AND AFPROVtNG THE CIRCUS
LATION OF THE PETITION.
WHEREAS, a proposal was heretofore presented to the
City Council of the City of Rosemead requesting the City
Council to give its consent to the commencement of annexation
proceedings in connection with certain inhabited territory
contiguous to the City of Rosemead; and
WHEREAS, a report and recommendations have been
received from the Planning Commission of the City of Rosemead
approving and recommending the annexation of said territory;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead
in an adjourned regular meeting of said City Council held on
December 16, 1959 consented. to the commencement of annexation
proceedings in connection with said inhabited territory in
accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913; and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 1959, there was filed with
the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead a copy of a notice of
intention to circulate a petition relating to annexation of
said territory to the City of Rosemead, under the Annexation
Act of 1913, pertaining to territory designated as "Annexation
Area No. 6", accompanied by a written statement containing
reasons for the petition together with an affidavit of publi-
cation of said notice in the Rosemead Review; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that
the legislative body may adopt a resolution acknowledging
receipt of the notice and approving the circulation of the
petition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Rosemead:
Section 1. That the receipt of the notice, statement
and affidavit-11-sTe-reby acknowledged, and that approval is
hereby given for the circulation of the petition for annexa-
tion of that territory designated as "Annexation Area No. 6,"
twenty-one days after the publication of said notice and
statea=t.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 1959
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Buchanan, Cook, Horning,
Lowrey, Stead.
NO Sa Councilmen - None.
ABSENT: Councilmen - None.

The term for which said franchise is proposed to be granted is indeterminate, as defined in Sec-
tion 6264 of the Public Utilities Code of the State of California.
The grantee of said franchise, and its successors and assigns, will, during the life of said franchise,
