RESOLUTION NO. 84
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF AGREEMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, proceedings are pending before the
City Council of the City of Rosemead for the annexation to
the City of that certain territory designated as Annexa-
tion Area No. 2; and
WHEREAS, the major portion of said annexation
area is under development as a shopping center and commercial
development; and
WHEREAS,'the development of a planned shopping
center within the City of Rosemead would contribute sub-
stantially to the revenues of the City from sales tax, would
broaden and enhance the tax base of the City, would provide
additional shopping and parking facilities for the citizens
of Rosemead and would contribute to the development and
economy of the City; and
V:IEREAS, in order to annex said territory to the
City it is necessary for a written agreement to be entered
into with respect to the improvement of certain streets and
the construction of certain water main facilities to service
said annexation territory and the surrounding area,
NOW, THEREFORE, it is resolved as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby finds and
determines that the public interest of the citizens of the
City of Rosemead and a proper public purpose of said City
will be served by the completion of said Annexation No. 2
to the City of Rosemead.
Section 2. That it is in the public interest
that Baldwin Avenue and Cedar Lane be improved by pavement,
curbs, guttero, and sidewalk so as to provide for the
proper movement of traffic upon the public streets adjacent
to the proposed shopping center development and to provide
sidewalks for- the convenience of pedestrians on the public
easements adjacent to the proposed shopping center.
Section 3. That it is in the public interest to
provide an e?gtht inch water main along Baldwin Avenue from
Valley Boulevard to Cedar Lane and along Cedar Lane, to
pravide additicnal water supply, fire plug and facilities
for fire protection and in addition an adequate water supply
for the area adjacent to such water main.
Section 4. That it is in the public interest
for an agreement to be executed between the City of Rosemead
and the developers of such proposed shopping center in order
to provide for the annexation of said territory to the City
of Rosemead with its corresponding benefits to the City and
