A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and tt is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Rosemead to order the installation, maintenance, operation,
repair, supervision and all other work and services necessary
for the effective operation of a street lighting system, together
with all necessary appliances and appurtenances thereto in the
territory hereinafter described.
Section 2. It is the intention of said City Council
to order tat tFe expenditures necessary for installation, main-
tenance, operation, repair, replacement, power, electric current,
care, supervision and all other items necessary for the proper
installation, maintenance and operation of such street lighting
system shall be assessed upon the land, and as determined from
time to time by the City Council, upon the improvements, lying
within the boundaries of the lighting district zone hereinafter
described, which zone is the district or zone which will be
benefited by, and which should be assessed to pay for such street
lighting improvement. The territory within said boundaries is
hereby designated as Rosemead Street Lighting District Zone 5.
Section 3. The exterior boundaries of said Rosemead
Street 1-79 tang District Zone 5 are specifically described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Said boundaries are shown on the map attached hereto and marked
Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 4. Said street lighting improvement shall be
for a perio commencing on February 1, 1962 and ending on
January 4, 1971.
Section 5. Fifty percent (50'/) of the cost of the
installation in said Zone 5, as shown in the report on file
with the City Clerk, shall be paid out of the City Treasury.
Section 6. The amounts to be assessed for such
improvement shall be levied and collected in the same manner
and by the same officers as taxes for city purposes are
levied and collected, in the event that taxes for City pur-
poses are levied and collected.
Section 7. The City Council hereby declares that
any lots or parcels of land belonging to the United States
of America, or to the State of California, or to the County
of Los Angeles, or to the City of Rosemead, or to any school
district or public agency, in use in the performance of any
public function, which are included within the proposed
assessment district, shall be omitted from the assessment
hereafter to be made to cover the costs and expenses of the
proposed improvement.
Section 8. The proceedings for the formation of
Rosemead Street ighting District Zone 5 shall be pursuant to
Division 14, Part 1 of the Streets and Highways Code, being
the Street Lighting Act of 19)9, as amended.
