A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OFiHE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY TO ROSEMEAD
STREET LIGHTING DISTRICT ZONE 4 AND TO ORDER
STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT IN SUCH TERRITORY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
require, ann it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Rosemead to order, a street lighting system improvement
in certain territory in said City of Rosemead and outside of
the boundaries of a street lighting district, to consist of
installation, maintenance, operation, repair, supervision and
all other services and work necessary for the effective operation
of a street lighting system, together with all necessary
appliances and appurtenances.
Section 2. That, in order to provide for such
improvement, it is the intention of said City Council to annex
said territory to Rosemead Street Lighting District Zone 4;
that upon such annexation said territory including land and the
improvements there on as ordered from time to time by said
City Council, shall be assessed with the other territory in said
Zone 4 to pay for such street lighting system improvement.
Section 3. The exterior boundaries of said territory
are specs ica y described in Exhibit "A" which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 4. Such street lighting system improvement
shall be o a period commencing February 1, 1962 and ending
on January 4, 1971.
Section 5. The amounts to be assessed for such
improvements shell be levied and collected in the same manner
and by the same officers as taxes for City purposes are levied
and collected, in the event that taxes for City purposes are
levied and assessed.
Section 6. The City Council hereby declares that any
lots or pars of land belonging to the United States of
America, or to the State of California, or to the County of
Los Angeles, or to the City of Rosemead, or to any school
district or public agency, in use in the performance of any
public function, which are included within said territory,
shall be omitted from the assessment hereafter to be made to
cover the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement.
Section 7. The proceedings for such annexation and
improvement shall be had and taken under and in accordance with
Division 14, Part 1, of the Streets and Highways Code, being
"The Street Lighting Act of 1919", as amended.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of January,
1962.
