A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD ASCERTAINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING
WAGE RATES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD FINDS, DETERMINES
AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The general prevailing rate of per diem
wages in- tip ty of Rosemead, for each craft, classification
or type of workman needed to execute public works contracts,
are as follows:

Operators on all hoisting equipment with
three drums or more receive 10~ per hour
premium pay additional to their regular
rate of pay.
Combination Mixer and Compressor Operators
on gunite work are classified as Concrete
Mixer Operators.
Operators on Tractors with scrapers or
dragtype shovels in tandem receive 15C
per hour above their regular rate.
The necessity for the use of an employee as
a Signalman shall be determined by the
Contractor. When used, he shall be an
Engineer-Oiler who assists in giving or
relaying signals by mechanical means
(also by means of hand signals on excavation
work) directly to the Operator of hoisting
equipment only.
On a survey crew, the Party Chief shall .
receive premium pay of IOC per hour above
the regular rate.

Overtime - not less than one and one-half (1-2) times the
above rate.
Apprentices may be employed provided they are properly in-
dentured to the Contractor, in full appliance with the pro-
visions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code.
WORKING RULES
1. Single shift: Eight (8) consecutive hours, or in certain
crafts less than eight (8) hours, exclusive of lunch period,
between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. shall constitute a day's
work. All time worked in excess of eight (8) consecutive
hours, exclus.ive of lunch period, or all time worked
before 8:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m, and all work performed
on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays shall be paid for at
the overtime rate of the craft involved.
2. Holidays: That the following days are recognized as holi-
days: New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day,
Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas
Day. If any of the above holidays should fall on Sunday,
the Monday following shall be considered a legal holiday.
Work on such days shall be paid for at the Sunday and
Holiday overtime rate of the craft involved. No work shal
be required on Labor Day, except in case of extreme
urgency when life or property is in imminent danger.
Notice is also hereby given that all bidders may submit with
their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibility
technical ability and experience. Such sworn statement may
be required to be furnished before award is made to any parti-
cular bidder.
Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the
City Hall, and shall be accompanied by cash, or certified
check or cashier's check, or bid bond, for ten per cent (10%)
of the amount of the bid, made payable to the order of the
CITY OF ROSEMEAD, and shall be sealed and filed with the City
Administrator, at 8815 East Valley Boulevard, City of Rosemead,
and will be opened and publicly read aloud at Council Chambers,
8815 East Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California.
The above mentioned security shall be given as a guarantee that
the bidder will enter into the Contract if awarded to him,
and will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder fails
to enter into said Contract.
THE CITY COUNCIL reserves the right to reject any and all bids
or waive any informality in the bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days
after the date set for the opening thereof.
