A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD REGARDING WATER RECLAMATION
WHEREAS, because of the great number of people who
now living in the State of California, and in Southern
California in particular, there is a great and growing need
to make the most efficient use of existing water resources;
are
and
WHEREAS, one of the major means of using such water
resources efficiently is to reclaim water after it has been
used and to use such reclaimed water for recharging ground
water basins and for domestic purposes; and
WHEREAS, the use of detergents for domestic and com-
mercial purposes has become so wide spread that it has created
and will continue to create an emergency in the reclamation of
water;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Rosemead that the City of Rosemead, on behalf of
its citizens, hereby respectfully requests SENATOR THOMAS M.
REES and ASSEMBLYMEN ALFRED M. SONG and HARVEY JOHNSON, of
the 45th and 58th Districts, to introduce legislation
immediately, and to take the necessary action to cause to be
adopted legislation to regulate and set permissible standards
for the use and sale of all detergents within the State of
California;
RESOLVED FURTHER that copies of this resolution be
forwarded to said Senator Thomas M. Rees and to Assemblymen
Alfred M. Song and Harvey Johnson, and to the Los Angeles
County Board of Supervisors.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of
February, 1963.
