SUBJECT: DISCUSSION REGARDING INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS
ON THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION FROM FIVE TO SEVEN
SUMMARY
At the February 14, 2023, City Council Meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Ly requested that an item be
brought forward at a future meeting to discuss increasing the number of members on the Public
Safety Commission ("the Commission) from five to seven. Currently, the Commission is
comprised of three residents and two members of the business community. The request, subject to
further discussion, is to add one more business owner and one more resident to the Commission.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council discuss and provide further direction to City staff.
ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
The proposed action does not constitute a project under the California Environmental Quality Act
("CEQA"), and it can be seen with certainty that it will have no impact on the environment. As
such, this matter is exempt under CEQA.

None.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
