RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
BILL DISNEY
WHEREAS, BILL DISNEY, a resident of the City of
Rosemead, has brought international recognition to this City
as a member of the 1960 and the 1964 United States Winter
Olympic Team, and
WHEREAS, he has won a Silver Medal for speed skating
at the 1960 Olympics, and
WHEREAS, he was honored by being selected to represent
the United States as color bearer in the Grand Opening Ceremonies
for the 1964 Winter Olympics at Innsbruck, Austria,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Rosemead, State of California, on behalf of all
the citizens of this City, does hereby formally commend Bill
Disney for his outstanding achievements as an Olympic Champion
and does hereby express its appreciation for the honor he has
brought to the City of Rosemead and for the splendid example
he has set for this City!s youth as an Athlete and,a Gentleman.
BE IT FURT.XER RESOLVED that this testimonial to Bill
Disney be permanently recorded upon the official records of this
City in sincere recognition by this Council of his genuine worth
to this community and as a continuing tribute to his accomplishments.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 26th day of
February, 1964.
