CITY OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING INTENTION TO SUBMIT THE QUESTION OF ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 24" TO ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TERRITORY AND SETTING.A HEARING FOR WRITTEN PROTESTS AGAINST SAID ANNEXATION, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF. WHEREAS, 'a petition.has`been filed wherein it' is, proposed to annex certain territory described in Exhib'it "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, to the City of Rosemead; and WHEREAS., said. territory is now and has heretofore beem designated as "Annexation No, 24'; and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by not less than one-fourth of the qualified electors residing within said terri- tory as shown by the county registration of voters; and WHEREAS, said petition contained a description of said new territory proposed to be annexed, and requested that said' territory be annexed to the City of Rosemead, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemead: Section 1. That it is the intention of this Council to calla special election for the purpose of submitting the question of,annexation to the electors residing in the territory Eroposed to be annexed, to.wit: the territory designated as 'Annexation No. 24" consisting of all the territory described in Exhibit "A". Section.2. Said territory shall be designated as and referred to upon election ballots as "Annexation No. 24". Section 3. That any person owning real property within said territory may appear before this Council on the 23rd day of June, 1964, at 8:00 p. m. at the Chambers of the City Council located at 8815 East Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, Cali- fornia, concerning written protest.against the annexation filed pursuant to California Government Code Section 35120. ATTEST: the City Clerk is directed to cause a be published and written notice given :,overnment Code Section 35119. and ADOPTED this ~p26th day of May, ZA_ms~( a 149&&Z _ MAYOR OF THE- TY OF RUSEMP;Av DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED "ANNEXATION NO. 24" TO THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD All that property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of the Southern California Edison Company Right of Way, as said Right of Way is shown on map of Record of Survey filed in Book 30, pages 16 through 20, inclusive, of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County Recorder of said County with the southerly boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on February 13, 1964, said point of intersection being also the southwesterly corner of Lot 155 of Tract No. 12492, as per map recorded in Book 245, pages 39 through 41, of Maps, in the office of said Recorder, thence southerly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner of Parcel 41 of said Southern California Edison Company Right of Way and which corner is also in the westerly line of Rockhold Avenue, 60 feet wide, as said Avenue is shown on the map of Tract No. 11391, as per map recorded in Book 205, pages 12 and 13 of Maps, in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Rockhold Avenue and the southerly prolongation of said westerly line to the most northerly corner of that certain parcel of land,described as PARCEL 1 in deed to County of Los Angeles for Rockhold Avenue recorded in Book 16794, page 353 of Official Records, in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly and southwesterly along the westerly and northwesterly lines of-said certain parcel of land to the southeasterly line of said Southern California Edison Company Right of Way; thence southwesterly along the southeasterly line of said Southern California Edison Company Right of Way to the northerly line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as shown on County Surveyor's Map No. B-2554, on file in the office of the Engineer of said County; thence easterly alor.0 said last mentioned northerly line to the northerly prolongation of toe west line of Lot 1 of Richard Garvey's Addition No. 2 as per map, recorded in Book 70, pages 69 through 71, inclusive, of Miscellan- eous Records, in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along said northerly prolongation and along the west line of said Lot 1, to a line which is parallel with, and distant southerly 140 feet, measured at right angles, from the southerly line of said Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as shown on said County Sur- veyor's Map; thence easterly along said last mentioned parallel line to the easterly line of Delta Street, 25 feet wide, shown as Central Avenue on map of Tract No. 5242, as per map recorded in Book 56, page 77, of Maps, in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along the easterly line of said Delta Street to the southwest corner of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to the southeast corner of Lot 8 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to the southwest corner of Lot 53 of said Tract No. 5242; thence southerly in a direct line to the southwest corner of Lot 62 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to the southeast corner of said Lot 62; thence northerly in a direct line to the northeast corner of Lot 61 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to the southeast corner of Lot 60 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to the southwest corner of Lot 105 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to the southeast corner of Lot 112 of said Tract No. 5242; thence easterly in a direct line to a point in the easterly line of Walnut Grove Avenue, 50 feet wide, being also the easterly line of that certain strip of land described in deed to County of Los Angeles for Walnut Grove Avenue recorded in Book 10709, page 316 of Official Records, in the office of said Recorder, said last mentioned point is distant southerly 138 feet, EXHIBIT A - Page 1 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED "ANNEXATION NO. 24"-TO THE CITY--0F'R0SEMEAD measured along said last mentioned easterly line from the southerly line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet wide, as shown on said County Surveyor's Map; thence easterly along a line parallel with said last mentioned southerly line, 175 feet; thence southerly and parallel with said easterly line of Walnut Grove Avenue, 100 feet; thence easterly and parallel with said southerly line of Garvey Avenue, 100 feet to an angle point in the westerly boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on February 13, 1964;'.thence northerly along said westerly boundary and following the various courses of the boundary of the City of Rosemead, as said boundary existed on February 13, 1964, to the point of beginning.
