CITY OF ROSEMEAD
RESOLUTION NO. 64-69
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD REQUESTING STATE LEGISLATION GIVING
LOCAL JURISDICTIONS A VOICE IN LIQUOR LICENSE
DETERMINATION.
WHEREAS, administration of the Alcoholic Beverage licensing
laws has been placed in the hands of the state agency, the Department
of Alcoholic Beverage Control; and
WHEREAS, the number and locations of licensed premises is
of vital concern to the City of Rosemead affecting police and
related problems and the development of local property; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Rosemead City Council believe
that insufficient consideration has been given to local problems in
licensing matters,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Rosemead that the Legislature of the State of California is
hereby urged to introduce and adopt legislation which will insure
that the problems of local jurisdictions will be given due con-
sideration in liquor licensing matters and that local jurisdictions
will have a voice in such determinations including authority to
limit the number of licensees on the basis of a city's population
or some other effective basis.
