CC - 1965 - 15 - Opposing Assembly Bill 300i RESOLUTION N0. 65-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF`ROSEMEAD OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL 300. WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 300 has been introduced in the Legislature of the State of California calling for parti- sanship in city and county government offices; and WHEREAS, this City Council and the League of California Cities have consistently resisted and opposed attempts to insert party politics into local government; and WHEREAS, non-partisanship has resulted in strong efficient local government in California cities and counties; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rosemead that this City Council does formally express its opposition to Assembly Bill 300 and any other legislation having for its purpose or aim the injection of partisan politics into local government. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is directed, and authorized to furnish certified copies of this resolution to the members of the California State Assembly representing this area, State Senator Thomas Rees, the Assembly Committee on Municipal and County Government and the League of California Cities.
