SAO deputy conducted a patrol check of the 8000 Block of Valley Boulevard and noticed an
active probationer who was previously arrested for narcotics for sales. Rosemead SAO deputy
contacted and detained the probationer pending a probation compliance check. After
investigation, the suspect was arrested for narcotics and an outstanding felony
warrant for grand theft, related to an incident that occurred earlier in the year in the city of
Rosemead.

Due to recent shootings and violent crimes throughout the city of Rosemead, SAO Deputies are
currently working side by side with our Gang Unit and Homicide Unit gathering information
and evidence pertaining to the recent crimes. SAO Deputies adjusted their schedule and
focused their efforts in providing high visibility and coverage the most active hours of the day
leading late into night hours.
SAO Deputies were able to obtain video footage and information leading to a possible suspect.
Multiple investigations are currently ongoing.
SAO Deputies have been saturating the high crime areas through the city of Rosemead and
prevented additional shootings and violent crimes.

Rosemead SAO deputies assisted Riverside DEA with service of a search warrant to a location
in the city of Rosemead for an illegal cultivation of marijuana. Two suspects were arrested
for illegal cultivation of Marijuana.

SAO Deputies arrested 3 habitual trespassers at 3035 San Gabriel Boulevard. The individuals
have not returned since the day of the arrest.
08-07-2023
SAO Deputy was subpoenaed to court for a grand theft case that occurred in the city of
Rosemead. The suspect was held to answer and given a sentence of two years of prison. The
suspect was a repeated burglary offender that will be off the streets for two years.

Rosemead SAO deputy conducted a patrol check of the 9000 Block of Valley Boulevard after
regular business hours. SAO Deputy observed an individual wearing all black with a backpack
walking behind a closed business. Believing a crime was about to occur, the SAO Deputy
contacted the individual pending an investigation. The individual had several burglary tools in
his possession. The suspect was arrested for burglary tools along with an
outstanding felony warrant, likely also preventing an additional burglary to a
business.

Rosemead SAO Deputies conducted a surveillance operation on a murder suspect from an
incident that occurred earlier in the month in the city of Rosemead. Rosemead SAO Deputies
went undercover gathering crucial information on the murder suspect that contributed towards
a search warrant (08-15-2023).

Rosemead SAO Deputies assisted a Drug Enforcement unit from the state of New Jersey in
conducting follow up investigation on a major narcotic suspect residing in the city of
Rosemead.

Rosemead SAO Deputies assisted our Homicide Unit in severing a search warrant for a murder
suspect in the city of Rosemead. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for
murder.

Rosemead SAO Deputies conducted a routine patrol check of the local businesses on Valley
Boulevard. Rosemead SAO Deputies contacted a male and female individual known to frequent
an empty parking lot belonging to a closed bank. Both individuals were warned numerous
times for trespassing on property. Based on the active Letter of Agency (LOA) on file, both
individuals were placed under arrest for violation of 602(M) PC.
**LOA is an effective tool used every day to assist deputies in preventing Indvidual's
from trespassing on private property. With these forms deputies can arrest individuals
on the owner's behalf without the owner(s) ever having to be present. These arrests
prevent crimes such as burglary and can even prevents narcotics users from returning
and using private properties as their drug havens.
08-16-2023 /RD 0530
Rosemead SAO deputies responded to 5045 Earl Avenue, Rosemead regarding a male Hispanic
vandalizing an electric gate to a business. With the assistance of Temple Station Patrol, SAO
deputies were able to apprehend the suspect who is a local gang member in the city of
Rosemead. At the conclusion of the investigation, the business did not want to press charges
for the damaged gate. SAO deputies were still able to arrest the above male for violation
12.36.030, Rosemead Municipal Code, illegal storage of property on public.

While conducting a patrol check during night hours in a high crime area on Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead SAO Deputies observed two individuals walking towards a business. The SAO
Deputies detained both suspects pending further investigation. The suspects possessed several
burglary tools and miscellaneous property. One suspect was arrested for possession of
burglary tools and misappropriation of property. Rosemead SAO Deputies likely
prevented other businesses from being burglarized that night.
The SAO team was contacted by the on-duty shift Target Manager regarding a theft in progress.
A coordinated response was organized and SAO deputies responded to the scene. As a result,
a petty theft suspect known to constantly steal merchandise from different Target
locations was arrested and taken to jail.

Due to an increase in priority calls for service this week, Rosemead SAO Deputies assisted line
units with priority calls to ensure a quick response. The calls for service included brush fires,
traffic collisions with injuries, domestic violence incidents, and many other disturbances.

Rosemead SAO Deputy had an 8-hour course of Emergency Vehicle Operation Center (EVOC)
training. The training consisted of maneuvering at a high speed during a vehicle pursuit and
bad weather conditions.

Rosemead SAO Deputy was subpoenaed to court on a burglary case that occurred in the city of
Rosemead. The suspect appearing at court is a habitual burglary offender throughout the city
of Rosemead. The suspect was found guilty and received a three-year sentence to prison.

A Rosemead SAO Deputy conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle with an expired registration. The
driver and sole occupant of the vehicle gave consent to search his vehicle. With the driver's
consent, the Rosemead SAO Deputy located a bottle of pepper spray. The driver has been
convicted of numerous felonies and is not allowed to possess the pepper spray. The
Rosemead SAO Deputy arrested the driver for possession of pepper spray by a
convicted felon (22810(a) PC)
08-25-2023 / RD 0532
A Rosemead SAO Deputy conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle without a front license plate
attached. The driver and sole occupant is on Probation for illegal possession of a firearm. A
criminal records check revealed the driver had a no bail warrant for his arrest. The
Rosemead SAO Deputy arrested the driver for his outstanding no bail warrant
(24610 PC).
08-29-2023 / RD 0534
While conducting a patrol check of the "Walmart" parking lot, a Rosemead SAO Deputy's
license plate reader vehicle (ASAP vehicle) alerted him of a stolen vehicle parked in the parking
lot. The Rosemead SAO Deputy observed three occupants in the vehicle and detained the
occupants at gunpoint. The Rosemead SAO Deputy with the assistance of other Temple Station
units safely detained the three occupants. The Rosemead SAO Deputy arrested the
driver (a criminal street gang member from "Southside Montebello") for
possession of a stolen vehicle (486D(a) PC), vehicle theft with prior convictions
(666.5(a) PC) and placed a probation hold on him with the approval of LA County
Probation. One of the passengers is on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS or
AB109) for burglary and had a no bail warrant for his arrest. the Rosemead SAO Deputy
also arrested the passenger for the outstanding warrant.

Rosemead SAO Deputy contacted the owner of DBA “7-11” located at 9701 Valley Boulevard
(who is also the owner of “7-11” located at 4800 Temple City Boulevard). The owner expressed
his gratitude towards Rosemead Deputies for always responding to his business quickly and
taking care of any issues.

Rosemead SAO Deputy contacted Kien the owner of “A&A Cellphone Care” located at 9014
Garvey Avenue. Rosemead SAO Deputy discussed current issues with homeless residents in the
nearby area.

Rosemead SAO Deputies contacted Phillip, the owner of “Garvey Wholesale Beverage” located
at 2542 San Gabriel Boulevard. Rosemead SAO Deputies followed up with an ongoing
investigation of a vandalism incident which led to the suspect being apprehended at a later
date.

SAO Deputies contacted the management team at “Walmart” to proactively inform business
managers, owners and employees of City updates. SAO Deputies provide information of crime
trends, arrests, and tactics used to minimize crime.
08-29-2023 / RD 0535
SAO Deputies conducted a patrol check and conducted a foot patrol of Macy’s and Macy’s
adjacent parking lot. SAO Deputies contacted the AP manager of Macy’s (Alyssa Cortez). SAO
Deputies discovered several thefts had occurred at the store and not reported. SAO Deputies
took over three criminal reports and investigations that included video surveillance. SAO
Deputies wrote the reports and forwarded the reports to the Retail theft Task Force. All these
cases are currently being investigated by the task force.
CALLS FOR SERVICE
08-24-2023 / RD 0536
SAO Deputies responded and were first on scene at a vehicle collision. The driver of a vehicle
had difficulty driving and collided into a metal pole, a parked vehicle and subsequently into a
building. SAO Deputies were able to conduct traffic control, give updated information to the
dispatcher and responding deputies, then provided first aid to the elderly driver.

SAO Deputies saw a disabled vehicle on the road impeding traffic. SAO Deputies reached out to
the driver and ensure him that SAO Deputies will not leave until his vehicle is secured on the
side of the road. SAO Deputies discovered the driver had an active misdemeanor warrant and
arrested the driver.

SAO Deputies proactively patrolled the intersection of Garvey Avenue and San Gabriel
Boulevard. Noticed a vehicle exit a hotel and stopped immediately on the side of the road. SAO
Deputies noticed the odd behavior and conducted a traffic stop. During their investigation,
SAO Deputies discovered the driver had a suspended license for drinking and driving. SAO
Deputies arrested the driver for an being an unlicensed driver and DUI.

SAO Deputies noticed a wanted vehicle driving on Valley Boulevard near the City Hall. SAO
Deputies conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, SAO Deputies noticed the driver
was wearing the same shoes and shorts used in the crime. SAO Deputies found the same hat
that the suspect had on during the crime. Based on the investigation, they arrested the suspect
for the grand theft. SAO Deputies proactiveness prevented a possible crime at Rosemead.

SAO Deputies noticed a female squatting down in the corner of “Sketchers” parking lot.
During a conversation with the female, they noticed the information given by the female was
false. After a full investigation, SAO Deputies discovered the female was wanted for two
incidents: a domestic violence and providing false name to a peace officer. After the arrest of
the female, SAO Deputies discovered 6 driver license from different victims. One of the driver
license was reported lost/stolen. SAO Deputies additionally charge her for receiving stolen
property and misappropriation of lost property.

Rosemead SAO Deputy conducted a patrol check of the local businesses on Valley Boulevard
during closed ours. Rosemead SAO Deputy observed a suspicious vehicle driving through the
parking lots of closed businesses. The Rosemead SAO Deputy conducted an inquiry of the
vehicle license plate and was discovered the vehicle was reported stolen the same day. A felony
traffic stop was conducted. Both driver and occupant of the vehicle were detained. After
further investigation, the driver of the vehicle admitted to stealing the vehicle. The driver
was arrested for grand theft auto and other felony chargers.

Rosemead SAO Deputies contacted AP Manager at Wal-Mart and discussed crimes trends. The
AP Manger expressed her gratitude towards Rosemead SAO Deputies for the continuous patrol
checks. The AP manager further stated the thefts at Wal-Mart are decreasing.

Rosemead SAO Deputies contacted the Manager at Starbucks, located at 3000 San Gabriel
Boulevard, and discussed any concerns and ongoing issues. The manager expressed his
gratitude to the Deputies for always having a fast response.

09-05-2023 / RD 0536
Rosemead SAO Deputies assisted field units with vacating several homeless transients living at
a vacant house. The owner of the house signed a Letter of Agency allowing for Deputy
personnel to arrest anyone at the house for trespassing. Four individuals were arrested.

Rosemead SAO Deputies assisted Code Enforcement with vacating homeless residents from a
vacant parking lot. Every person was given information and an opportunity for housing by LA
CADA. One homeless residence received housing.
