DATE: SEPTEMBER 5, 2023 SUBJECT: ZAPOPAN PARK AND JAY IMPERIAL PARK AMENITIES
SUMMARY At the direction of the City Council, the Parks Commission will discuss and review amenities at each facility and park in the City of Rosemead. The Parks Commission will review a different facility or park at each meeting. Commissioners will provide feedback to staff as to current and possible future amenities. The Parks Commission will discuss Zapopan Park and Jay Imperial
Park. DISCUSSION Zapopan Park is located at 3018 Charlotte Ave and is roughly 7 acres of land. This property is owned by Southern California Edison and licensed to the City. The park provides the following amenities for the residents of Rosemead. Amenity Description
Basketball Court There is one basketball court located in the
park area.
Fitness Equipment There are several outdoor fitness equipment
stations around the walking trail that are enjoyed by residents of all ages.
Multipurpose Field The large field is used by visitors for various activities.
Parking Lot There are two parking lots.
Picnic Shelters There is one large shelter that can be rented
by users.
Playgrounds There are two playground structures in the park.
Restrooms There is one set of restrooms.
Sand Volleyball Court There is one volleyball court.
Walking Trail There is a rubber walking trail path.

Jay Imperial Park is located at 2361 Pine St. This park was named after long time former Mayor and Council Member Jay Imperial. It opened on June 3, 2018. This property is owned by Southern California Edison and licensed to the City. The park provides the following amenities for the residents of Rosemead.

Fitness Equipment There are several outdoor fitness equipment stations around the walking trail that are
enjoyed by residents of all ages.
Picnic Tables There are picnic tables and benches throughout the park.
Walking Trail There is a decomposed granite walking path.

Staff recommends that the Parks Commission discuss the information provided and give
