RESOLUTION NO. 65-41
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING
FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON AUGUST 3, 1965
FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED
VOTERS OF SAID CITY AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "ANNEXATION NO. 27"
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead did on
the 27th day of April, 1965, duly adopt Ordinance No. 159 providing
for ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEX-
ATION NO. 27"; and
WHEREAS, the said Ordinance was.duly published as required
by law; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority provided by statute a
petition has been filed with the legislative body of the City of
Rosemead signed by more than ten per cent of the number of
qualified registered voters of the City of Rosemead protesting
against the adoption of the said Ordinance hereinabove referred
to; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk.of the City of,Rosemead has duly
examined and from the records of. registration ascertained that the
petition is signed by the requisite number of voters, and has so
certified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of. the City.of Rosemead has not
voted in favor of the repeal of the Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead is
thereupon authorized and directed by statute to submit the
Ordinance to the qualified voters;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rosemead,
California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as
follows:
Section 1. That a special election be held and the same
is hereby-ca a to be held in said city on August 3, 1965, for
the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said city an
ordinance'hereinafter set forth relating to ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 27".
Section 2. That the ordinance submitted to the voters
shall be as o ows:
The ordinance is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
made a part hereof.
Section 3. That the polls for said election shall be
opened at seven o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and
shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock
P.M. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as
provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of
California.

Section 4. That on the ballots to be used at said special

Section 5. That a cross placed in the voting square
after the word YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be
counted in favor of the adoption of the proposition. A cross
placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner
hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the
proposition.
Section 6. That notice of the time and place of hold-
ing said eFe on is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or addi-
tional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required
by law.
Section 7, That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage an adoption of this resolution, shall enter the same in
the book of original Resolutions of said city, and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of the
meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
Section 8, That this Resolution shall take effect

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 27" TO THE CITY
OF ROSEMEAD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. proceedings were initiated for the annexa-
tion of certain inhabited territory to the City of Rosemead;
and
WHEREAS0 said territory is now and has heretofore
been designated as "Annexation No. 27;" and
4aHEREAS, on the 15th day of February, 1965, the City
Council of the City of Rosemead did pass and adopt Resolution
No. 65-13 calling a special election to be held on the 13th
day of April, 1965, for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified electors residing in said territory the question
whether or not such territory should be annexed to, incorporated
in and made a part of the City of Rosemead; and
WHEREAS, said special election was duly held and con-
ducted pursuant to law in said territory on the 13th day of
April, 1965; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of April, 1965, at the
hour of 7:00 P.M., the City Council of the City of Rosemead
duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and did canvass
the returns of said election; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the votes cast in said election
were in favor of said annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD does hereby approve the annexation to the City of
Rosemead of said territory designated as "Annexation No. 27"
and as described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part
hereof and does hereby ordain that said territory be, and it
hereby is, annexed to the City of Rosemead.

April, 1965.

All that property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly lire of the Southern
California Edison Company Right of Way, as said Right of Way is shown
on map of Record of Survey filed in Book 30, pages 16 through 20,
inclusive, of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County Reorder
of said County with the southerly boundary of the City of ^osemead, as
said boundary existed on July 21, 1964, said point of intersection being
also the southwesterly corner of Lot 155 of Tract No. 12492, as per msp
recorded in Book 245, pages 39 through 41, of Maps, in the office of
said Recorder; thence southerly in a direct line to the northeasterly
corner of Parcel 41 of said Southern California Edison Company Right of
Way and which corner is also in the westerly line of Rockhold Avenue,
