A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD AUTHORIZING THE
ACQUISITION OF NECESSARY RIGHTS OF
WAY FOR ROAD PURPOSES AND ORDERING
EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEEDINGS.
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity of
the people of the City of Rosemead do require the
improvement at the intersection of Mission Drive and
Rosemead Boulevard over and across that certain parcel
of land hereinafter described, and for that purpose
and for such public use it is necessary that an ease-
ment in, upon, over and across said parcel be acquired
by said City by condemnation, which property is located
in the City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, and is more particularly described as
follows;
That portion of Lot 4, Tract No. 1812, in
the City of Rosemead, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded in
Book 20, Page 193 of Maps, in the office of
the County Recorder of said County, described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly
line of Rosemead Boulevard, 100 feet wide, as
shown on County Surveyor's Map No. B-2521 on
file in the office of the County Engineer of
said county, with the southwesterly line of
Mission Drive, 70 feet wide, as also shown
on said County Surveyor's Map; thence along
said easterly line, South 0017'15" East 32.57
feet to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave southeasterly and having a radius of
15 feet; thence northeasterly and easterly
along said curve through a central angle of
111003105" and an arc distance of 29.07 feet
to a point of tangency with a line which is
parallel with and distant southwesterly 10.00
feet, measured at right angles, from said
southwesterly line; thence along said last
mentioned parallel line, South 69014'10" East
1.00 foot; thence at right angles, North,
20045'50" East 8.00 feet to a line which is
parallel with and distant southwesterly 2.00
feet, measured at right angles, from said
southwesterly line; thence along said last
mentioned parallel line, South 69014'10" East
36.00 feet, more or less, to the westerly line
of the land described in deed from California
Water and Telephone Company to the City of
Rosemead as recorded on June 19, 1964 as Doc-
ument No. 5845 in Book D-2517, Page 469 of
Official Records of said County; thence along
said westerly line North 15 07125" East 2.01
feet to said southwesterly line; thence along
said southwesterly line, North 69014'10" West
62.50 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the improvement at the inter-
section o Mission Drive and Rosemead Boulevard and the
acquisition of an easement in, upon, over and across
said real property for said public purpose is a use
authorized by law.
Section 2. That the public interest and necessity
require t Fe ifi- p ovement of said public highway.
Section 3. That the above described parcel of
land is necessary for such purpose.
Section 4. That such proposed improvement of
said public' _fi glway is located in a manner which will
be most compatible with the greatest public good and
the least private injury.
Section 5. That that certain parcel of land
above descrBi ed-6_e condemned for a public purpose,
namely, for the improvement at the intersection of
Mission Drive and Rosemead Boulevard for public road
and highway purposes, and the City Attorney of the
City of Rosemead is hereby directed to institute eminent
domain proceedings in the Superior Court of the State
of California for the County of Los Angeles, for the
condemnation of said parcel of land above described for
public road and highway purposes, and to take all steps
necessary for the condemnation of said parcel of land in
the name of said City.
Section 6. That the public interest and necessity
require t e taring of immediate possession, the the City
Attorney is directed to institute proceedings for the
taking of immediate possession, and the use of the prop-
erty herein ordered to be acquired, upon complying with
the requirements of the law applicable thereto.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 8th day of
June, 1965.
