A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD, ON THE 3RD DAY OF AUGUST, 145, DE-
CLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS
AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and
conducted in the City of Rosemead, State of California, on
Tuesday, the 3rd day of August, 1965, as required by law;
and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly
given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting
precincts were properly established; that election officers were
appointed and that in all respects said election was held and
conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and
the returns made and declared in time,-form and manner as required
by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California
for the holding of elections; and
WHEREAS,. on the 10th day-of August, 1965, at the hour of
8:00 o'clock p.m., the City Council duly assembled at its usual
place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of said election
and as a result of which, the City Council finds that the number
of votes cast and other matters required by law to be as stated
hereinafter;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That there were thirteen (13) voting precincts
establisFe3_Tor the purpose of holding said election consisting of
consolidations of the regular election precincts in the Coun;:y of
Los Angeles as established for the holding of state and county
elections.
Section 2. That at said special municipal election, the
following measure was submitted to the electors, to wit:
Shall Ordinance No. 159 adopted by the City Council on
April 27, 1965, providing for annexation to the City of
Rosemead of territory designated as Annexation No. 27
be approved?
Section 3, That the whole number of votes cast in said
election except absent voter ballots) was 3,228.
That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in
said election was sixty-three (63) making a total of three thousand
two hundred ninty one (3,291) votes cast in said election.
Section 1:. That the number of votes given at each precinct
for and against t e measure were as follows:
Section 5. The City Council does declare and determine
that:
As a result of said election, a majority of the qualified
voters voting on said measure relating to Ordinance No. 159
did vote in favor thereof, and that said proposition was
carried.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of
the City Council of said City a statement of the result of said
election, showing:
1. The whole number of votes cast in the election;
2: The measure voted upon;
3. The number of votes given at each precinct for and
against the measure;
4. The number of votes given in the election for and
against said measure.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 10th day of August, 1965.
